I picked up an ACME Tornado 2000 a couple of weeks ago.  ACME claims it's the world's loudest whistle (122 decibels!?!) and I believe them.  One short, split-second blast of air into this whistle and my ears ring for 30 minutes.

I'm not sure.  I can't find Jetscream in my area at all.  "Sgt. Mike" does a test and review of some whistles (http://sgtmikessurvivaltips.blogspot.com/2008/05/who-gives-toot-whistle-tests-coming.html) and says the Jetscream registers an average of 110.6 db.  He doesn't review the Tornado 2000 though.   ???

The Tornado 2000 is still a great whistle for the money.  I paid a regular price is $3 CAD for it which is about $1 USD or 1.7 GBP.

I got a Fox 40 whistle. It's nice, glows in the dark, and is loud... oh yeah, and pea-less! :D What more could someone want? I don't know  I got it for free, from the BC SAR Association.

Fox 40 makes some awesome whistles as well.  I've been thinking about getting their micro whistle.

Two Acme Thunder's arrived today, two Tornado's on their way, I'm giving 3 out to the family - one for me.

Very loud!

Thought i'd give this a bump, in need of a new whistle. I have the tubular variety, maybe thinking of the Fox 40. Which do you like best Ben?

I carried a Jetscream for a while, but it seemed a bit OTT for my needs, so I eventually settled on an orange Acme tornado.

I have maybe 10 different kinds of whistles- from classic metal ones to titanium, and the loudest 3 that I have are:
WindStorm, Fox 40 and JetScream-all pea-less
WindStorm is by far the loudest, but it's to big for edc
Fox 40 Micro is my favorite, very loud, glow in the dark and slim and small for edc carry

They are incredibly loud. It wouldn't surprise me if they can cause temporary hearing damage to the user.

I really like the tone of those ones, loud but not shrill.

Tone wise they remind me of old police whistles, which is strange considering they look absolutely nothing like them

I had this titanium whistle custom made for me. It's 2-1/2" long with a ceramic glass breaker ball on the end. Enjoy!   :D
