I believe the exhaust was that way when purchased, though maybe it was a mod, I’m not certain. My uncle bought it new in the late 80’s, then sold it to my dad, who sold it to me when I bought their house/property a couple years ago. I’ll ask my uncle and see if he remembers.

It is indeed a Shibaura made model.

My uncle used to fly planes out of his back yard and bought this to mow the field. Hence the turf tires. I’d ideally like to get them replaced and find a front loader attachment for it, but haven’t taken the time to price the tires or start the search for the correct loader. It may ultimately be easier to sell/trade it to acquire one more set up for property maintenance, but I’m undecided as of yet.

I live about an hour away from the New Holland plant where a lot of the Fords were made.  They're good, solid reliable tractors. The Shibs are sweet!!!

This kind of exhaust is an option for many tractors working around trees, particularly orchard tractors. It may also be ordered for people who mow around trees a lot. This way it doesn't snag on the branches.
