One of my favourite adventurers is Sir Edmund Percival Hillary.

It shows Mount Tapuae-o-Uenuku.
Hillary scaled it solo over three days in 1944.
On his return, he was tired, dirty and unshaven but happy.
"I'd climbed a decent mountain at last."

Deciding on what knife to take often depends on a lot of variables.
However I do have some frequent flyers.
Day trip, benchmade minigrip folder 66 grams.
One or two nights, small santoku fixed 130 grams including sheath.
For more wilderness stuff, bark river gameskeeper 179 grams belt carried in it's leather sheath 93 grams.

Isn't really a slicer, isn't really lightweight and leather needs some looking after.
Has good weight in the hand and it's able to cover most small or larger knife jobs before needing a slicer or slasher.
I like that it's solid and I like that it holds an edge.
Looks good, feels good and is good.
Not sure who said that but I do think they were on to something there.

My adventure photo was taken a couple weeks ago in the Mount Thomas Forest area.
Quick out and back if you will.
Climb the Blowhard Track, descend a spur to the right, cross the Garry River and climb a spur to point 1046.
Normally wouldn't take a photo but had paused to put on another layer before heading back out.
Mission bonus was being in the hills for sevenish hours and not seeing another human.

Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Leatherman Skeletool for thirty (30) consecutive days.
