That Myerchin looks great. I had a knife with a marlin spike....not sure where that went/ended up. A marlin spike can be a handy tool!  :tu:

Absolutely.  The marlin spike is underrated and found on too few models IMO.  As I noted, I've been pleased with the Myerchin for the price paid, and like it enough that I'll probably pick up a titanium version (perhaps the smaller crew model; perhaps the with the serrated blade...).

I looked at Victorinox as well when I was in the market for a knife with a marlin spike, but only the Skipper Pro has the style of marlin spike I like.  The Skipper Pro weighs nearly two ounces more than the Myerchin Captain, and while it certainly has additional tools that the Captain does not, it is missing some of the tools I like to have on a camping SAK (namely scissors and wood saw), so the Skipper Pro could not be a standalone solution for me.

This was hard if I had to remove the SAKs.  The cadet really does it all. In descending order:
1) CS American Lawman - the AUS8 version. The handles are slightly more thicker than the new version. I’ve long since modded it by smoothing the pocket clip area and removing the blade finish.
2) Opinel 8 - coz c’mon. Slicey! Classy!
3) Spyderco Delica - cuts like nobody’s business
4) Buck 110 - no longer carry it but it’s my first knife plus great clip point. Deserves a spot.
5) Spydiechef - I may not like everything else of it, but that LC200N is a miracle steel

Funny thing, I’ll buy a new knife now and then but the Lawman keeps coming back. Actually just ordered the Spyderco Chaparral in CF so let’s see what happens.

The AL is a boat anchor when I go to the office but the ergos is so good. The factory that CS uses really knows their HT on the AUS8 and it’s still a good steel material IMHO.

The Sebenza has an S35V blade, the 2 Buck 110's and the Paramilitary have S30V blades, and the Al Mar Sere 2000 has a VG10 blade

Great selection!

My Sebbie--I'm fairly sure--is S30V. No complaints. How does the S35V compare for you, VICMAN?

Thanks Nix!

I've got a couple of older Sebenza's in S30V.... I actually like the S30V a little better as far as edge retention.

Ooooh, nice selections!  Luv the Opi!

And...the Delica might just be the most practical little knife ever!   :tu:   :like:

Truth be told, if CRK offered a Sebbie in 154CM, there is no way I could resist taking out a third mortgage.....

So, Top 5 of the folders we own? That should be easy, don't have that many...

 :(

So much for great pics of beautiful folders, either...
