No problem, I like Malta and used to visit it often, in the pre Covid days

The description has now been changed to Stag Bone, close enough.

They only changed the description of the one I pointed out to them.

The other 3 models with Bonestag are still described as stag.

I will see if they figure it out ......

I tried to order from Heinnie´s once. All seemed to go well until I had to enter my address.

It appears their database contains my address but with the wrong postal code. They have my postal code, but with the wrong address. Either way, I couldn´t complete the order with the correct data.

Instead of sending them a message, I ordered at Lamnia.

Terminology like this has been around since the early 20th century.  Many companies called jigged bone "stagged bone" or "Bone Stag" and even into the synthetic era  "Brownstag" "Stagalon" etc.

It was correct in stating that the term,"bonestag" has been around forever(I would say at least one hundred years).

IMO, the fact that it has been done for a long time does not mean it isn't confusing for the neophyte knife shopper.

In English, the prepositive placement of adjectives (i.e. adjective before noun) is generally the norm, with postpositive adjectives (i.e. adjective after noun) being relatively rare.  Thus, the default assumptions would be:
  • stag bone = bone, with stag being an adjective modifying the noun bone
  • bone stag = stag, with bone being an adjective modifying stag (but this assumption would be incorrect)

While the name may not be grammatically correct,I believe the term was originally used as a product identification rather than a description such as,"celluloid" or,"Pyremite"(cellulose acetate) or earlier,"Silver Steel" which contained no silver and even,"Stainless steel" which literally meant,"stains(or rusts) less". Staglon I doubt would be composed of stag and nylon.
