LM Mini Pouch
on: August 08, 2020, 06:21:52 PM
Having recently acquired a LM Mini (thanks Sos24  :hatsoff: )

Does anyone know where I can get an "origianal" pouch  :dunno:

If that's not a viable option (and I have looked  ) can anyone recommend a good aftermarket type.

TBH, if we're going aftermarket, is there a good jean pocket slip pouch type thing

You could try Etsy. I saw a leather sheath there. Beautiful but a bit bulky. Sometimes they have the original stuff too.

Pre-pandemic you could probably just stroll in a military surplus store and find a generic pouch.

Thanks  :salute:

I've done the flea-bay and Etsy search (no joy)

I don't want a bulky leather belt type thing (a bit overkill for such a small MT  :dunno: )

I had a LM Mini way back in the 80's (with my PST) so I was looking of one of the original sheaths... :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

I hear you. Not a big fan of the leather stuff since I am a office worker.

If you are dead set on getting a Leatherman sheath and can’t find the original I would suggest getting the nylon sheath that the company first came out with. Something like this:
https://www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/workwear-and-safety-gear/tool-belts-and-harnesses/8477325?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx4-cwaGM6wIV3h-tBh2grA1wEAQYAyABEgKYh_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

The only problem is that it’s probably bigger than the tool but you could stuff more stuff in there.

If you can find the original MiniTool nylon sheath you may want to check if the Velcro still sticks.  Good luck!!!

Find anyone that makes knife slips, give them the dimensions of your Mini and they should be able to make you a nice pocket slip

Hi,

I have a mini tool lucky enough have the original pouch as well so I cannot help you selling one sorry. I don't want to advertise myself but I have done some leather work mainly for self use, for tools or smartphones. Have a look below I can help you making one for the right size. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks

Thanks for all your input people  :salute:

I'm determined to try and find an original but, given the scarcity, it's on the back-burner  :-\

I might try and source a pocket slip type thing as I don't really want a leather belt sheath on such a small tool.

At least the original was fairly low profile (compared to leather types)
If anyone finds one kicking around please drop me a PM and thanks for taking the time to read & reply  :hatsoff:

While they're not as nice as the originals they are much easier to find,  a Schrade tough chip pouch fits the Minitool perfectly.

they might ship to the UK, says to contact seller

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SCHRADE-SHEATH-SMALL-31-8-BELT-LOOP-NEW/362988036515?hash=item5483c5e1a3:g:SOAAAOSwjI5aq-rO#shpCntId

Thanks Steve  :tu:

When I added it to my basket and went to checkout I got the standard Ebay response to shipping ANYTHING knife related to the UK and circumventing rules etc.  ::)

I will send the seller a message but I suspect the cost will be be several times the value, and take FOREVER  :ahhh

I think this might need me to scour DIY stores here and buy a cheap MT (with pouch) that might work
