Good God (other deities are available)

This starts tomorrow... :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

My first might be a glamour shot as it's a work day so I can't carry my only Skele ::)

Good luck all and thanks to Sos24 for an excuse to dig it out  :salute:

Hello team.
Welcome to the challenge.
My day 1 pic a glamour shot really.
I think I bought this Skele in Cape Town in about 2005 but I cannot see any date stamps.

Day 0:

I was just thinking that I hadn't signed up for a challenge in October....***phew***...when this caught my eye......

How can I resist?  :dunno:

So, right from the start....I'm not a big Skele fan. I've had this one for a long time, but I'm not sure how long. Do these have a date stamp? I don't see one on mine.....

I think I was initially attracted to the skeletonized look. "Great! It'll be a bit lighter and easier to carry!"

And the OHO feature seemed great back then.  The blade shape was nice, too.

So then I get it home and start looking for all the tools.......

There aren't any. It's a knife with pliers. Or maybe a set of pliers with a knife....... Hmmmm..... little drivers seem cute....and I get two (2).

"Hey! A bottle opener, too!"

Well....despite the limited tool set, I did end up EDCing it a bit. The blade shows some signs of wear, as do the wire cutters. So I must have used it from time to time.....

And, I have to say, the ergos really grew on me. It feels pretty good in hand.

Nevertheless, I think I reverted to using Waves, Rebars, and Supertools. The Skele got tossed into a closet, maybe to be carried once in a while when I thought some pliers might be handy but I didn't want a full sized multitool in my pocket. (I should compare the size and weight of an OG LM PST to the Skeletool at some point during the challenge.)

So, great idea, Sos24. Seems like a good time to pull the skeletools out of the closet and see what they can do for a month.  :tu:

Who knows?  Maybe I'll come to appreciate this minimalist multi again.....  :dunno:

Great to have you Nix.

I usually carry mine as an addition to a SAK when I think I might need pliers.  I started comparing the two, to see what I would really miss that I frequently use.  I realized the main tool that I would really miss is the scissors.  So I wanted the challenge to see how much I would miss not having the SAK.

Day 1

It was a work day today so I wasn't able to carry the CX as it's not Gov't issue  ::)

However, when I got home I took the Skele out to sunbathe in the remaining autumn sun.

Although, I don't carry it much (UK laws) it's a user and has seen some action so a clean is on the cards

Day 1 of 30

It was weird to change Spirit/Wave to Skeletool but i managed to survive day with this set.

Tomorrow gonna change that black bitset to leatherman bitkit and also gonna change extender to LM extender cause it works great with vics ratchet.

Day 1
I used the Skele to turn an old chapstick container into a storage capsule, that I may try as an extra bit holder for a few commonly used bits.  Used the flat head driver to pop out the bottom and the wire cutter to cut off the center piece.

The knife also helped open a box of dog chews and will probably cut an apple later.

Nice pic.  It is a shame about UK laws not allowing carry.

Nice combo.  Glad to hear it worked, despite down scaling.

I have the Leatherman bit set and have been considering the LM bit extender.  I may have to finally pull the trigger for this challenge.
