Ordinarily I wouldn't mod a discontinued tool because... well because it's discontinued and I would hate to ruin a collector's piece.

However, this Mini Tool was already damaged when I got it as you can see, so I started to thing about what I should do with it.

My first thought was to simply square it off and turn it back into a simple flathead.

The other thought I had was to carve out the nsaty bits, even it out a bit and make an eyeglass screwdriver out of it.

Of course, I am open to other suggestions...

Is the file on the Mini Tool made of the same material and hardened the same as screwdriver blade(s) would be?

I was just curious if the file would be too brittle to use as a screwdriver and chip again instead of bending upon the application of too much torque.
