Well done on all those who got Knotted in Knot-tober :tu:

Congrats Enki and Vitor  :salute:

Another informative and excellent GAW by Nix, where the content of the thread matches or exceeds the unbelievable items up for grabs.

I would have participated but for my own laziness, and I came across the thread late

I have spliced eyes in three stranded rope before, but have since forgotten. They are a handy addition for tie-down ropes. For hollow type synthetic ropes/cords, you can push the end through a hole back on the standing end, feed it in a ways and it constricts on itself to hold the loop.

Awesome job on the linked list, RP!

Hey and thanks to RP for the fantastic summary list with links - Very, very handy

On that - I just had a thought - Shall I make that list an addendum to the very first post, with appropriate explanation -  for easy future reference, if it's OK with Nix and RP.

Done !

I put the list after the rules - Hope that is OK - As the GAW is over I figured that the knots are now more important than the prize details
But let me know if I should do anything otherwise than what is there now

Massive congrats to Enki and Vitor  :woohoo:.  I don't envy having to choose.  Every knife added I was  :ahhh.

This was great deal of fun for sure and I am so happy Enki won.  I echo what Huntsman said about his contributions to MTO.  It was so much fun having Vitor participate as well.

Congratulations Enki and well done Vitor. I hope you both enjoy your prizes.  Thank you Nix for a great contest.  It was educational.  Thanks also to everyone who participated and made it fun.  Except maybe Fuzzy.  I found an old picture of Fuzzy by the way, in case anyone is interested.

FYI, I went with the BRK Bravo 1 from the OP, seemed to suit my preferred use best and I liked it ever since I saw it first.

The Vidarr looks awesome, dreamy, but I have full sized knives, and never use them. If I need something bigger, I go with a folding Laplander saw or a machete.  I'd hate something so beautiful to just be a shelf queen and not get used.

I stopped carrying folders a long time ago, I prefer SAKs and as nice the Osbourne is, it never even got considered, and I already got a Syph007 Urban, a black one with red liners :dd: so as SAK crazed I am, that one didn't sway me from my original draw to the Bravo.

And then Nix got naughty, threw a SECOND Bravo AND a Steingrass to the mix and the choice got way harder. :ahhh

I prefer blades that start close to the handle with little to no choil and the blade width of the Bravo seemed to suit me better so although the Steingrass was dreamy, I was back to the Bravos.

And there were two. :ahhh The antique ivory one tempted me as the color seemed kike it would be easier to find if I god forbid dropped it in the leaves and grass, but we all know I'm drawn to the dark side :vader: And I wasn't sure how I'd get along with the thumb ramp, I never stab with my knives anyways that I'd need that much extra traction in that area so it might just get in the way and annoy me so I went with the one I know I like.

So in the end, choosing the prize was the most difficult part of the contest for me :D It took me longer than to think of, tie, photograph, edit and post all the knots and entries, explanations and posts in a month long thread. :ahhh

Thanks again Nix for your generosity and patience, and thinking of such a great theme for a GAW. :hatsoff:

It was a hard choice.  Each new knife was .  If it were me I would have gone with the Vidarr early on.  The Bravo is amazing and I've wanted one for years too.  Then the moment he showed the Steingrass  :gimme:.  I would have had to flip a coin.  That was is gorgeous.

Enki i am so happy you will be getting a Bravo.  Please please post adventure pics.

As a fun exercise I was trying to think who would choose what.  I thought you'd go for the SAK of Bravo in black

Will do. Might take some time before I go caving again cause as Fuzzy showed us, Winter is coming,  as is snow, so getting to the mountains will have to wait, but I'll take it on trips to the local woods so we get to know each other better till spring.

As a fun exercise I was trying to think who would choose what.  I thought you'd go for the SAK of Bravo in black

You could have told me that right away, would have saved me a lot of thinking, watching reviews and reading up on the different models. :twak:

You chose...wisely.
I would have gone with either of the Bravo's.  A little tough to chose between having a thumb ramp or not without holding them in hand, but I think I'd go with the thumb ramp one. Gorgeous scales, still a Bravo. It would have been my full-tang bushcraft knife.

The Vidarr was also beautiful, but probably a little too long of a blade, and I already have the Fiskars hatchet.
The Matt Lesniewski EDC was cute, but a little too small of a cutting edge for a fixed blade for my bushcraft.
The Contego was beautiful, but I have a few large folders now, so I am set.
The Robert Lessard custom SAK was just sweet. Had I won, I'd have a hard time choosing anything over it. I have lots of SAKs though, so a Bravo seemed like the choice I'd make.
The Steingrass was also quite remarkable. I'd be happy with that as well.

Once again, fantastic GAW, amazing participation, and what a prize lot.  :like:

I'm pretty sure I'd have made the same choice, but that antique ivory look of the second Bravo made my head explode. :dd:

Fuzztangle Day 1:

Okay, so for my first entry I have this. I like to call it the Fuzzy Bunny. It may well have a more archaic technical name, but that's irrelevant. It's got bunny ears, so sure to be a crowd pleaser or indeed a winner!

(Image removed from quote.)
Well I think it's cute Fuzzy.
Just like you.

Fantastic GAW, well done the winners.

I didn't enter as most of my knot tying has no practical use.

But here's a link to my favorite knot at this time and a short tutorial on Instagram how to tie it.  https://www.instagram.com/tv/B4auzZXjBd9/

The Plafond knot, also known as two strand Chinese lanyard knot. ABOK 807.

I hate you all.

Anyway, despite not contributing much knotyness myself, I found this challenge rather enjoyable and up there with the best of them. Nix, once again, well done.  :hatsoff:

... and well done to the winner... or winners... I wasn't paying attention...... Did anybody win?

I still hate you all though.
