Very sad news indeed... R.I.P. Eddie...
One of my favorite VH songs. Love the keyboard intro, love the guitar solo... Eddie played both

I thought he had beaten the cancer. I guess it came back. VH was a big part of my youth.

Van Halen was part of the soundtrack to my youth. Even rock gods are mortal. RIP EVH, hope to see you on the other side.

I thought he had beaten the cancer. I guess it came back. VH was a big part of my youth.
He had. Mostly.
About a year or so ago he had been hospitalized (again) and he was so close to the end that they had called family and friends in to say goodbye. Valerie Bertinelli even left the set of Hot in Cleveland to visit him one more time, and yet he hung on this long.
I'll bet he and Randy Rhoads are locked in a heck of a guitar battle right now, just like they used to on Sunset Strip.
RIP EVH. You may not play anymore for us, but you have left a legacy that no modern musicians can hope to live up to.

Thanks for the music Eddie. Often imitated but never duplicated.
