Leatherman Bolster
on: October 10, 2020, 05:12:23 PM
I was looking at a heritage sheath on Leathermans website and saw a reference to the Bolster as well as the already mentioned in another thread Bond and Curl. Anyone have any info on this tool?  Thanks in advance.

Give Leatherman a call and ask. Knowing LM and their website it could be an error.

I saw the trademark thread about the Bond and Curl but have not seen anything about the Bolster.

The Chinese competition must be really hurting given the rash of cheaper tools.

Is this just a Rev with a small serrated blade instead of a package opener?

Oooh my, I had to look back on the picture and it is true, no package opener!
Maybe it became a "one-hit-wonder" for the Rev/WM/SK series or, learned about Poncho and Steve's mod and that's why they kept the combo opener!!!  :tu:

Great! It will provide all the parts I need to restore my old Sidekick that I've been cannibalizing to make awls for my Waves!

Seriously, that has to be the laziest attempt at selling a new tool that I've seen from Leatherman. They took the springy pliers and larger handle from the Sidekick and married them to the smaller handle from the Rev.

I also think it just looks weird to only have an outside blade on one handle. It's visually unbalanced.

I would assume that the Bolster will replace the Rev.

Actually, the Sidekick has the same serrated blade rather than the package opener. This new tool has the exact same internal tool set as the Sidekick. It really is just a Sidekick minus the saw.
