This sounds interesting. I’ll join in. I’ll likely pick a Victorinox SAK with the combo tool. I just hate the combo tool. Do I have to commit to a specific tool now?

Welcome onboard!

We don't have to commit to any tool choice just yet, but once the challenge start, we will have to stick with the same tool for the rest of the month.

:iagree: (mostly at least) why don’t you join me with a micra

Like the sound of this challenge …or do I?  ??? I would like a fridge magnet  :like:

I’m not sure I’ve anything I hate but there’s a tool so many love and swear by that I find really overrated, hasn’t stopped me from buying 3 of them mind you  but that was a long time ago, I know better now  :dunno:

It’s the LM Micra, it’s nifty I know, it’s well made I know and I used to really like it, but the scissors bend things when they should cut half the time, the knife is on the wrong side, the tweezers and bottle opener are awkward to use…I definitely don’t hate it but I’d hate having it as my only tool for a month so does it count?

I may. I sure hate the Victorinox combo-tool, though. Maybe I’ll see if I can have one modded into the Micra...

I'm still leaning towards the LM OHT. I've tried to use it recently and still find it's main blades too short

I might use the True Utility POS tool I bought a few months ago (for the bit kit & light that came with it)

However, I'll see if I can get the current work issue Gerber (Suspension) so that might be a contender

It'll be an interesting challenge, one way or the other  :dunno:

I too still haven't really made up my mind just yet...sometimes I wonder whether I would actually 'hate' a tool per se, or my tool snobbishness gave me that bias towards less popular brand or no name brands.  There is only one way to find out...

I have a feeling even just to choose a tool that you would actually 'hate' the most could be a challenge in itself.  :D

I've already considered that  :twak:

Personal issue as part of a trial & therefore can't be reclaimed (that's my story and I'm sticking to it  )

Moreover, most of our depts know SFA about the others  ;) (UK Civil Service at it's best  :D )

Or I'll just say I lost it  :dunno:

Ahh the perfect crime:

"I lost my tool, replacement?"

"Sure here's your Gerber"

*2 months later cutting strapping with the Surge*

"Ahem, didn't you lose that Surgeyboy?"

Of course if you ever need a place for it to hide out until the heat dies down  ;)

Could we use more than one tool we dislike? For instance I despise the Victorinox combo tool and the LM Micra. Could I pair up a Bantam and a Micra?

This wouldn't be about finagling a nice Vic blade on top of the Micra's now would it  :pok:

I don’t mind the Micra’s blade (or any of the other handle tools), it’s the scissors.

The Gerber fans won't like this, but I've never quite got along with my MP-600 or MP-400. They both have needle nose pliers that stick out of the tool so I can't just drop either of them in my pocket which is my preferred carry method.  It will most likely be one of those getting the nod for this challenge.

I may use it after all. The Coast Pocket Plier Paperweight seems so much better now. I kind of like it even. But the Flik, not so much. I will decide later on a tool, but the Flik is the number one contender as of now for me.

That's right. I do have a multi-tool for this. The Gerber Flik. Which is perfect for this challenge.
