DAY 00

@ dadwithkids --

Some of these hands are really intriguing....

(Image removed from quote.)

︎  Pair of 6's! You start the challenge with one (1) folder and one (1) Fixie.
︎  You may draw up to three (3) cards beginning on day 07.  :tu:

BOOM! I was a little afraid that I wasn't going to have options! As someone who operates in both a corporate setting and on a shop floor, this works pretty nicely.

Here are my carries:

I got an Otter Messer Weaver traditional slipjoint (C75) for my "corporate" carry, and a Tactical Pterodactyl Mini Unnamed fixed blade (Nitro-V) for my "shop" carry. Old school cool, meets new school tool.

I am a little worried about only carrying one blade shape (wharncliffe/sheepsfoot). I'm curious if I'm going to miss having a drop point at my disposal...

Tomorrow (DAY 01) is a shop day, so I'll more than likely be carrying my fixie.

This challenge has already started out with a very interesting and comical Day 0.

I have to say I feel for some of you due to your limitations.

I do have to say although I do not have McStichy’s hand, I pretty content with mine.  My worst fear would have been only having a fixie for the week so 2 SAKs and 2 folders is really sweet.  I could even carry one of my favorite pairs.

So my choice is:

I like that Otter Wharncliffe  :tu:
A Wharncliffe definitively has a more pronounced point that one could miss on a sheepfoot.

Day 1

It was fun yesterday to watch the whole challenge unfold, and congrats to McStitchy temporary lead.  I am kinda looking forward to Day7 to see people flipping the table...

For this week, I will be comfortably 'stuck' with my SAKMC Mountaineer, which I've used for my chili food prep.  I think I might have put in a bit too much chipotle chili, it's crazy hot and I could still feel it smoking in my belly. :D

My starting duo :tu:
Brusletto Balder sheath knife (because it's so easy to carry in my pocket)
And a Leatherman Charge Ti (because it's nice)(Image removed from quote.)

Nice combo, I think I have the exact same blade from Brusletto, very pocketable.

I found a traditional folder. On my disk...

Very nice barlow from Otter, is the bolster stainless steel? :pok:

That would be cruelty...but maybe we could arrange that for next's year.  The weakest hand get one of the tools and a spoon(mandatory carry). >:D

Day One!

My Pokey the Wonderdog is not impressed with the Drifter. She and I generally prefer a full sized SAK. But, we will adapt, improvise, and overcome.

I’ll be wearing my fixie mostly as a necker. I wear scrubs at work, so this will be easiest. I also have a belt and a pocket sheath I could use, if needed.
