Pocket pouch for 2/3 layered 91mm SAKs and similar

It awl started, as usual, with a weirdly shaped scrap of leather.

It was large enough to wrap a Compact, but how could it be turned into a sheath? It was not like the usual rectangular shape people use...

Maybe trimming the top and cutting the bottom, to make it straight and get it closer to the basic usual shape...

Hum... that little piece I cut, it could go paralel to the top of the larger piece...

Maybe cutting it so it can run along two of the edges...

That's it! It looks good, now!

Ok, let's just punch some holes in it, stitch it up and test it with the Compact!

Sweet! The adjustable tab keeps it tight, it works with anything from a Bantam to a Climber. It lets the lanyard out, so as to make it easier to take out of the pocket and out of the sheath.

Yup, it sometimes pays off being a hoarder and keep every little bit of leftover materials from other projects.

  :D :D

Thanks. It's a nice exercise, starting with something out of the ordinary and trying to make something useful out of it.

And yes, it was (and still is)! With a little pocket time, with some patina, it'll be a nice piece of EDC.

  :salute:

Nicely executed.  It can be hard to "see" the final product but you did an excellent job.
