In the spirit of SAK creativity, can I enter this beast?. Just kidding!  We got hit with some car repairs that sidelined my Super Max purchase.  I'm really going to enjoy following you all, my friends!  :D

Day 1

Well, looks as if I am the one to open this challenge. I am going to do it with surgery: the Mickey Mouse scales of my XLT had to go. Given that the XLT is not a discreet SAK by any means, I decided to slap happy yellow scales on my new EDC. I have to say I am quite pleased with the result.

Other than that, I noticed that the exposed part of the Cybertool driver has darkened quite a bit since I last used the XLT in Comis' Stack Challenge of last year. Looks like some kind of oxidation to me. Balistol didn't have any effect, so for the time being I guess I just have to live with it.

As I had already noticed in last year's challenge (see above), the XLT remains on the right side of "big" (if only just), meaning that I for one can both handle it and carry it in my jeans pocket. Granted, you notice it's there, but it neither pulls down your pants nor does it feel overly uncomfortable in the pocket.

So my XLT and I are off to a good start, it seems. I doubt I will have many occasions to test the true potential of this SAK during the challenge, but I will look out for opportunities of course.

Good use, Vicman. Alas, I found it hard to come by glasses where the mini SD actually fits the screws :dunno:

Nice scales swap, that's gonna be one of the more creative use of the Lego separator. :D :tu:

Day 1

The challenge opens strong with all the heaviest weights of SAK lineup!

Never put my giant on a balance, might as well give it a try today.  A wooping 1.33kg(2.93lb)!  This is one tool/knife I will always move my feet if I happen to drop it.

I read one of the original intent for building Wenger Giant is to shop case many of the Wenger tools in 85mm/similar chassis.  One being the blade from the Wenger Soldat Standard Issue(probably one of the few, if not the only Alox made by Wenger).  And since the Soldat is in 93mm format and has a longer blade, the tip of the blade does protrude from the Giant chassis and so handling the tool does need extra care.

Comis, ours vary a little in tool assortment.  I think there are 3 or 4 variations.

The XLT is really minimum carry compared to this beast.

I do, let me take the photo in the morning, it's a little too dark to take a good photo of it.  The format of the certificate is a little different, maybe we have different vintage years?  That's gonna be an interesting comparison, since I have heard they are built by only a few handful of folks in Wenger, and I wonder do they always build it the exact same way each time.
