Cool scales there Dave One quick question, are those scales glued onto the SAK because I thought with Vic scales once you clip them off they don't clip back on again

It's true that with the Vic scales, when you pop them off, you can lose a bit of the celidor / nylon or whatever, which means they won't fit so snugly again. I often get a little ring of plastic that comes free after removing them. With the scales in the picture, it would be very difficult to engineer a "snap fit" like the original Vic scales, as simply, hardwood doesn't have the same elastic properties as plastic, and I don't have the ability yet to make them that accurately! I therefore tend make the recesses in the scales quite a bit larger than the bushings that they fit over, to avoid wear to the wood during use. Epoxy resin (specifically araldite) seems to work really well for that, and does actually allow you to remove them at a later date if you need to. The down side to that process is that they can slip a bit whilst the glue hardens if you're not really, really careful, as in Flash's 3rd pic!
