Outdoorsman Chat Room
on: November 20, 2020, 11:58:24 PM
Hey guys, my Outdoorsman came in today and I'm pretty excited about it. It's an unusual one as it has the serrated main blade and pruning blade. I haven't seen any of these besides this one. Any other owners of this particular variant of the Outdoorsman please come forward! :climber:

P. S. You're still welcome if you don't own this variant... but it's tentative.  >:D

Better shot of the serrations. You know, I've always been an alox guy but I'm starting to understand the Cellidore fanaticism that some seem to exhibit on here.  ::)

Great idea for a ‘club thread’, Rit!

One of my favorite models!  But can we include the ‘Original’ Outdoorsman’s slimmer, three layer sibling in the Picnickers? Same blades, but no scissors or metal saw.

What an interesting set of blades.  I know Vic does some great serration so I'm sure that a cutter.  I like the pruning blade option in that SAK.  Congrats.

Yes you can! Both are sweet. When do you estimate the guy on the right was made?

Both types of blades are nice to have. Factory or well sharpened/maintained serrated is awesome.

Around ‘73/‘74. I’ll dig out more later this weekend.  :tu:

Here are a few...

Top pic— a couple of my favorites. A ‘rare’ stainless Elinox shield Outdoorsman c.’76 and a c.’73 Hoffritz Camper/Picnicker

Bottom— 2 Outdoorsman — One of my users and a fixer, both c.’72

Lots of versions between these two models...pretty sure I don’t have them *all*...yet. I’ll post more as I dig them out later in the week.
