Help with Custom SAK Tool Choices?
on: November 21, 2020, 09:56:36 PM
This will be a 3 layer, 91mm combination of a Compact and an Explorer. I’m stuck in completing the 3rd layer, and picking the tool that will accompany my Large Blade, on its layer.

Here’s everything I’ve picked, and basically finalized (in no particular order):

1st Layer: Scissors | Hook (w/ File)

2nd Layer: Large Blade - ? | Corkscrew (w/ Mini Screwdriver)

So, I have it narrowed down to 3 similar layouts for the final layer, with only 2 choices for what I end up pairing with the Large Blade.

1) In-line Phillips & Magnifier —> Combo Tool

2) In-line Phillips & Bottle Opener —> Small Blade

3) Can Opener & Bottle Opener —> Small Blade

In my opinion, it seems I need to ultimately pick between Magnifier and a Small Blade, first?

If the Magnifier is the answer, then I’M DONE!
But if it’s the Small Blade, I need to then pick between the dedicated In-line Phillips or the more versatile Can Opener.

To give a visual representation, it’s essentially a choice between:

- Yeoman with an Awl & Hook w/ File
- Climber with Hook w/ File

I’m an indecisive person, and it’s taken me weeks to get this far. . . Please send help O__O

I considered that. But, to be honest, I do intend to try and have Syph add his cool scale drawer and scale wrench to it, further down the line. I mean, that’s the dream anyway.

I won’t rule it out. But I think having a back layer Awl and a Small Blade would just give me more options to play with, if I ended up going that route. Maybe?
