Saw this curious design. Currently on kickstarter.
S30V blade, hammer and center punch, ferro rod, driver with three standard bits, chisel.
A bit long, but thin and rather lightweight.
I know, I know, no fish scaler. Still, lots of tools on it, and the design is certainly eye-catching.

They bothered making the blade out of S30V, and then they put a combo edge on it. Why?

Kinda interesting design, just don't know how ergonomic it will be in hand.  Too much metal are taken away from the wrench head, I have my doubts how well it will work as it intended.

Theres nothing wrong with Combo Blade. tho usually those are wrong way (serrated part should be tip and straight part near handle.

 :iagree:

Certainly a different design. Looking at the saw/rope cutter/chisel combo: That is asking for a snapped tool in my opinion. The stupid rope cutter weakens that tool too much. Sometimes less is more.
That whole tool looks like a giant hotspot. Yes the corners are rounded, but i doubt this will help much.  :dunno:

"True man sized", what are they compensating for? I mean average would be around 5" in the US... or is this German made... well, it is certainly too small for the Congo

Quite honestly, I not only wish they wouldn't put a combo edge on this, I wish they would not put blades on everything.
Oh, and why do they measure the spanner size on the outside?

It looks like there are some really good design ideas, but the execution looks flimsy.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

That's the measurement of the frame width.

I had a look at their website...

Ehhh.

I feel like a lot of these kickstarter type things (not just multitools) should be viewed as a bit like those runway fashion shows - they're explorations of concepts, not really designed for actual production or use in the world, but sort of experiments, from which you might take one or two ideas, and put them into practice in a muted, watered down way....

I like the *idea* of independent designers and craftsmen being able to enter the market, but I'm just too jaded to buy into it...
