Böker Tech Tools Questions
on: December 05, 2020, 03:42:29 AM
I am interested in a Böker Tech Tool City 5 lately, and I am wondering how the pliers and scissors are. I had one of the other ones and know the cap lifter and knife are great. Are the pliers and scissors of the same quality? How do they compare to the Vic 91mm versions?

I would appreciate any insight  :cheers:

Do you have any Wengers with pliers?  Or Victorinox Delemont series?

The pliers are similar.  The scissors, in the bigger models, are not as good as Victorinox.

I have two City 2’s and love ‘em. Aside from that dang belt cutter they put in place of the can opener.

Well, I cannot comment on the pliers... the scissors are OK. They are neither good nor terrible. Good for heavy stuff (zip-ties) bad for fine stuff (cloth). Overall, the City-Tool is my favorite non-Victorinox SAK-alike.

here is the summary of my thoughts on City Tool 3, there is also a link to the Off-Brand challenge where I carried it.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I don‘t have any Wengers/Delemont with pliers. I know they open wider, is that the same with the Böker? Also, are they as precise as the Vic ones?

Thanks for the offer  :cheers: I was looking at the City 5 because of the Phillips. It sees more use than the corkscrew.

@Etherealicer

So after reading through your writeup (very informative!) i decided not to get one. There are just too many small flaws and i know they will drive me crazy. So you prevented me from spending money on a tool i don‘t really need, instead saving it for another tool i don‘t really need  :D

I also agree with your thoughts on the Spirit. Guess that is why I will always go back to it. There is just no other tool out there that has the tools setup they way i want it  :tu:
