Day 19 (Wing Challenge Day):

GADad threw out a wing challenge and I accepted....

Rangergrip had no trouble trimming off the wing tips. I thought I took a shot of the 'post-trimming' action, but apparently all I actually captured was the scene before the work got done:

(Image removed from quote.)

However, I did get a shot of the finished wings:

I grilled the wings outside, then dressed 'em once done. My sauce was a head-exploding variation of the classic Buffalo Hot Wings sauce: butter, Crystal Hot sauce, Rubin's XXXX hot sauce, Tabasco sauce, chipotle chile powder, black pepper, garlic powder, a touch of honey, and a big pinch of salt. Oh, a small splash of apple cider vinegar to keep it tart.

I figured it would be best with some classic blue cheese dip. Made this with loads of blue cheese.

I have to say that the sauce was much hotter than I expected. After eating about half the wings, I was sweating like a marathon runner and my nose was running like a sprinter. I was really glad to have that blue cheese dip to cool things off between wings.

Might have to make some more, soon......
  looks amazing

Oops…wrong one :D

Jothra has very kindly taken what I sent him and made it into a proper challenge badge :hatsoff: :salute: :tu:

He’s also created a second option with both Wenger and Victorinox crosses, so which do you prefer?

This will be the small profile version

Wow, those look great!  Can’t say I have a preference, they’re both awesome and we’ll be lucky to have either one!

You mean Yeast Extract?
Almost exactly that...the stuff I sampled was in a green tube.

Which do you prefer?
I spotted that after I'd hastily posted Day 19's activity. I prefer the one with both logos, as I used a Victorinox for this challenge.

And a slightly late happy birthday to SMiller!

Day 19

If you'll forgive the bad pun, I dealt with some loose ends. The third is the short piece used to hold the small lanyards...I didn't realize I had so many of 'em! This post is very slightly late because I had help from Sophie the kitten.  :D

Love the 149 and Grand viceroy Victorian!
Thanks!  Do you use fountain pens?  You seem to know them well.  SAKs appeal to me because of the high quality, craftsmanship, and design that go into them, just like good fountain pens.  They are little engineering marvels and works of art.  I believe the Swiss Champ is featured in the Modern Museum of Art in New York.

DAY 19:

My birthday today, had to break out the BYSAK, a beautiful '57 Standard Issue.
Happy Birthday and many happy returns! :tu:

I've been in a few challenges that were taken over by bacon pics - is Vegemite the new bacon?
Never tried vegemite, but just can't imagine how this could top bacon...what has this world becoming to?

Day 19
Just a glamor shot of the Swiss Sportsman and ESEE JG3.
Everytime I see the JG3, just have to comment how lovely it looks.

19/30

Used it plenty at work today,, but no pics. So,,,, here's another glamour shot with a carving that has been in my wife's family for a few generations.

The family does have many good artists, another great piece!

Thank you and Jothra for the designs  , I think for the big badge, they all look pretty good.  For the smaller badge, I'd prefer either 1 or 3.

Day 20

Wenger Tactile with a large clip point blade.  I remembered reading about Swiza long term usage just few days ago on General, and the plastic was falling apart after a few years of use.  I haven't really put the Wenger Tactile thru the same period of test, but just am glad it's still in a pretty fair state, considering all these soft scales often disintegrate by itself.

I'd be happy with either of those, but I do think the double cross pays homage to both Wenger and the Vic Delemonts quite nicely.

:iagree: I prefer the one with both shields, but I won't complain the Wenger only version.

I agree with AppleAndrew, nice pen collection there, Maxdog - is that a Pelikan cabinet too? We’re both pen fans too….. yet another exPENsive hobby!

Great work, y’awl!

Day 20
