Jumbo carrots!
I usually buy a few 40lb bags from the gas station, sold as deer feed. Use them in venison stew that I pressure can. I can't get them to grow good here.

That's one heck of a gas station.

Day 13.

An older Commander for me today.  Note the smaller can opener.  Also the cap-lifter/screwdriver doesn't have the press "lock" that you get on more modern Delemont made knives.  Anyone any good at dating Wenger designs?

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Nice commander!

Don't have any date info, but I have one just like it. I've always wondered why the can opener is smaller. The blade on mine has a strange finish as well. Interested to see if anyone chimes in with information.

Day 13, having fun watching my boy using magnifying glass on globe. Did not think this was the best option for magnifying.

Day 13

Wenger Motorist.  I am always interested in what I could put in the opposite end of a inline phillips, and usually what we could only get in Vic camp is either led flashight or magnifier.  But if there is a choice, I'd love to have this wrench opposite the inline phillips.

Day 12, just a rainy day here
Beautiful lamp and desk :dd: , good shot!

I thought about gloves, but my inner idiot took over.  I'm going to have to watch his videos again to try to figure out what I was doing wrong.
Some of the best fun I had always came from my idiocy, just saying. :D

Day 12

Today the S52 was along for moral support cutting firewood. The saw was ready for action if needed. I also used the large screwdriver. I run the Vic style can opener much better than the Wenger style, but that's probably just years of practice with the Vic.
Good use! :tu:

Day 10

We don't drink wine around here anymore and my shoestrings are not knotted, so I had to find another way to make use of the corkscrew. This tree has multiple woodpecker holes in it, and one hole was the right size for the corkscrew:

(Image removed from quote.)

Day 11

Used the nail file. Not impressed by it.

(Image removed from quote.)
I think it is alright only because the tip could serve as a impromptu phillips driver, but should it has a Vic can opener, then I'd much rather have the small blade which I absolutely love and adore.

Day 12:

Finally caught the knife in use on film....or the digital equivalent..... Helped peeling and prepping some carrots from the garden. These are getting roasted with sage, rosemary, and garlic.

(Image removed from quote.)
Nice herb trio, but where is the bacon?! :pok:

Day 12
Opened some bags of fresh/frozen seafood for tonight's Cioppino.
  Enough said....

Day 13

I do not like the Wenger pliers that much. They seem a little loose, the tip is not that precise, and when you press one handle with your thumb, the other handle also moves, to meet the other in the middle, instead of pressing one while the other stays still.
I had to crimp a tiny ring and it took much longer than it should have.
(Image removed from quote.)
It's kinda funky both the pliers and scissors move up and down like that, while the Vics' are stationary.  For that reason alone, I always prefer the Vic scissors and pliers.

Interesting blades, for a split second I thought it was a Buck retrofitted with Spyderco blades.  But what are they? :pok:

Sorry can't be of help, most things I do learn from SAKwiki and this forum.  But I tend to suck at things like this...

Day 12/30

Cutting tomatoes.
One thing I love SAK large blades are how rust proof they are, never have to worry the patina giving weird taste to food or rusting/patina the blades.

DAY 13:

Here we have the very collectable Premier.  This is really a Victorinox Bantam with Wenger cross and tang stamp https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Premier
Left to right we have my Wenger Golf Pro (only Wenger I own with the combo tool), the Premier, and Victorinox Bantam.
Note how the tweezer (and toothpick not shown), combo tool and blade shape are all distinctively Victorinox.

Day 12: Microlight Esquire. This was my first Wenger, and the only one I bought in a store. Tuesday Morning got a lot of Wengers around the time Victorinox bought Wenger, if I recall, it was maybe a year or two before 2012 when Vic axed Wenger. My store only had a few knives--heck this may have been the only one.

It was my main EDC for many years. Had most of what I needed (the LED is just bright enough--most used in places where they don't leave the bathroom lights on all the time) and was small. Until my joining here in 2015, I owned 3 SAKs; not 30 something like I do now.  I hated the Classic SD, and gave the one I bought new away.  Now about 25% of my collection is Classic SDs, and 35% is 58mm. About 7-8 years ago, I left it in my pack in a tent in the yard; and the batteries exploded due to about 150 degree heat. I had to take the front scale off, clean everything in alcohol, buy new CR1216 batteries, and reassemble. Still on that set of CR1216.

One goal I have this month is more Esquires. The Esquire is a better EDC knife in my opinion, as 65mm is just enough bigger than 58mm to be useful.

Today, I opened some mail with the pen blade, and pokey-proddy stuff with the nailfile.

Some really gorgeous knives on this thread!

Day 13

Another day at the keyboard, so time to try out the zero 23’s corkscrew - well, it works but it was hard work getting the cork out (these composite corks can be tricky), one to use in a pinch. The WineMaster can sleep easy knowing that it won’t get replaced any time soon!

Yeah, not quite a full mirror polish.  Still has very, very fine lines left from the grinding.

S52 along to help with any necessary sight adjustments. Actually wasn't used on the rifles in the picture. The 1894 and 1886 are just more photogenic than the scoped rifles.

Day 13: busy day

We have a spring for water, and have three checkpoints/valves that have to be winterized. We used common household insulation, waterproofed with leftover roof underlayment (which the type the contractors had left behind was a tarp-like plastic material) held on by Gorilla Tape.  I mostly used my one-hand opener (a Klein 44004 hawksbill; which got misplaced somehow before photos were taken) to cut tape, but the Gardener did most of the cutting of the underlayment. With the spring action, it took no time at all to cut about a half  dozen large pieces from the roll.

I had some woody stems of a flower that were dead and were sticking me in the side. Used the saw to cut those out of my way.

Lunchtime came, and I got some chives out of the flower garden. Used the scissors to cut them, but to cut them into finer pieces, I had to use sewing scissors, as the strong spring action were throwing the pieces everywhere.

13/30

Seems like I was digging the Wenger out of my pocket all day long. Lots of basic trimming, one metal sliver was pulled out with the tweezers. Also pulled a dropped screw out of a crevice with the tweezers.

Day 13
I enjoyed looking at today's posts!  I picked up some PVC siding for the interior of my garage today.  The garage is semi-finished, some walls have drywall and just one coat of mud and tape on it, the outer walls are wood.  It didn't bother me for the first 12 years we lived here, but after I epoxied the floor this summer it looked so pretty the walls looked shabby.  I've never used this stuff, it's relatively new but I figured it'd be a lot easier than more mudding/sanding/priming/painting, etc.  I had to pop the button off the opener, then unscrewed it from the wall.  First time using the locking driver,  :tu:  Didn't get a photo but also used the opener to pry off the staples holding the wire on.  One was too narrow for the blade (even though it's smaller than a vic), I ended up using the "hook" part of the opener to yank it out.
