Used the awl today to make a cat toy out of last night's Guinness widget. The cat has lost several previous widgets,,, but this time I attached it to the door knob. Maybe this one will last for a couple of weeks.

If the cat keeps losing the widgets you may just have to drink more Guinness.  I guess we all make some sacrifices for our beloved pets.  :D

Day 14

The S52 was along for a morning hunt. Four buddies and myself shot a 5 man limit (25) of Canada geese. The awl was used as a goose finisher twice. No goose pile picture, we picked up the spread in a rainstorm and were soaked to the bone.
Used the blade to cut some goose salami once we  had the birds cleaned (me with the S52) and got into a drier environment.

Day 14:

The Rangergrip did some good work in the garden today. We've had our first frosts and snow, so it was time to cut the tomato plants free and clean up a bit. Still have some carrots and beets to harvest, but I think they'll make it for a few more days.

DAY 13:

Here we have the very collectable Premier.  This is really a Victorinox Bantam with Wenger cross and tang stamp https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Premier
Left to right we have my Wenger Golf Pro (only Wenger I own with the combo tool), the Premier, and Victorinox Bantam.
Note how the tweezer (and toothpick not shown), combo tool and blade shape are all distinctively Victorinox.

Interesting, 84mm follow up to the 85mm Picnic presumably (which I bought one of just this week coincidentally)? :dunno:

Day 13

Back from holiday and a well deserved bottle of Broadside awaits…..

Well, just about gone by the time i am posting this

Day 13 of 30.

Today Everest 04 opened bottle for me

Only Tools Matters

Well,,, the Wenger stepped up one last time today to open up the can so I could give the widget to the cat to play with.

DAY 13: planting fall tomatoes.  :woohoo:

(Image removed from quote.)
Day 13: busy day

We have a spring for water, and have three checkpoints/valves that have to be winterized. We used common household insulation, waterproofed with leftover roof underlayment (which the type the contractors had left behind was a tarp-like plastic material) held on by Gorilla Tape.  I mostly used my one-hand opener (a Klein 44004 hawksbill; which got misplaced somehow before photos were taken) to cut tape, but the Gardener did most of the cutting of the underlayment. With the spring action, it took no time at all to cut about a half  dozen large pieces from the roll.

I had some woody stems of a flower that were dead and were sticking me in the side. Used the saw to cut those out of my way.

Lunchtime came, and I got some chives out of the flower garden. Used the scissors to cut them, but to cut them into finer pieces, I had to use sewing scissors, as the strong spring action were throwing the pieces everywhere.

On another thread someone's asking about using the 93mm Harvester as a garden knife, personally reckon the 130mm is more useful :tu:

Day 13

S52 along to help with any necessary sight adjustments. Actually wasn't used on the rifles in the picture. The 1894 and 1886 are just more photogenic than the scoped rifles.

Day 13

The Evo 23 helped prepare dinner again. Those are sweet Italian sausages from Wild Fork Foods...very good.

Day 14

Pie prep.

My Evolution S17 is always ready for an adventure!
And what a capable blade it packs in it's little arsenal of essential tools for urban and outdoors adventures.
Just EDC'd the knife today in my pocket, up to the challenge to take on any task.

Great kit  :like:

Day 14

Used the scissors on the Evo 23 to open some coffee this morning - I put the label into the vacuum pot to remind what’s inside!

I do the same  :iagree: :like:

Day 14.

Sticking with the old Commander today.

(Image removed from quote.)

I've really enjoyed using the commander too Gareth, very capable SAK  :like:

Day 14

Gave the blade a touch up today. Nice and slicey.
Another pic before bed.

What's your sharpening method GM?
I recently moved to a DMT kit which I like, but use all sorts from pull throughs to a stone depending on whether it's a beater or not and how quickly i need a result  :tu:

DAY 14:

The SwissBuck Odyssey.  Pictured with a Wenger Commander (more closely related to the Viking which I don't own).
As Buck mostly makes hunting knives, the blades have been ground to a clip point.

Good comparison shots, do like a clip point  :tu:

Wet here today and it’s brought the slugs out, reckon these are quite attractive …for a slug anyway

From what I just read, this species of slug is actually indigenous to Europe, not North America. But they can now be found in parts of Canada and most of the States.

Day 14: no use.

Mag pouches make pretty good sheaths. This GCS Warrior pouch is for the USGI SIG, and was sent to replace a missing factory holster to a Benchmade strap cutter. It will not fit the 7 that the pouch came with.

Not a great pic, but it is one of me using the larger straight driver (also a bottle opener) to remove cover screws from an electrical panel due to leaving my screwdriver in the kitchen of the jobsite:

Barry, happy anniversary!

Powernoodle and GA1dad, great cat photos!

Tet, happy birthday to your wife...and another cat photo coming your way...

Day 14

With some "help," I tested the Evo's scissors on fabric. My helper was more interested in playing with the fabric scrap or the lanyard, but the scissors didn't too too bad.

Also used to pliers along the way.
