Anyone having any luck with Cyberpunk 2077?
on: December 13, 2020, 12:00:46 AM
I just spent 80 dollars on STEAM for Cyberpunk 2077 video game and I can't even play it at all. I keep getting a crash at startup. I have updated my Nvidia drivers and still no go.

Just uninstalled it in STEAM and am currently re-installing it. I just watched a video with someone with the same issue. he just went into a local STEAM setting and had the service validate all local files, with one not installed properly...and it automatically installed that and it worked. Fingers crossed that is all it will take to get this working...now I just have to wait the time for the re-installation to take place. Sigh.

17 GB of a 60 GB install. I must have patience.

It took forever for him to download it, our service was slow so he ended up hardwiring his unit to it so it would move a little quicker, his is through ps4

Well I have tried everything that I found after scouring the internet...to no avail. Seeing that I paid for a game I cannot play, I have asked STEAM for a refund. I do not wish to pay 79.99 for something I cannot even play with. Very disappointing. Not a good first impression.

From what I have read, there appears to be many bugs and a few workarounds but nothing I tried worked for me.

You might wanna wait 6 months. It is sad, but nowadays it is never a good idea to play a game that just hit the market.

Saying that, I tried it myself  It works for me, but my computer is too slow to play it on high quality settings. So I decided to do what I should have done in the first place, and wait. Plan is to get a new Xbox series X next summer, then play it in 4K with raytracing  :D By that time the Xbox might be available again, and most bugs should be fixed

Like I said the kid got it for ps4, I can ask him if any questions? He’s a big gamer and lives by his comp, the comp he’s got is small, he’s saving up because he wants to get one custom made, I mean literally part for part custom and like liquid cooled! 8)

Well that was quick. No later than half an hour, STEAM has refunded me pending a 7 day wait. I have never done so much for no gain to get a game to run.

I have to wonder how many are asking a refund? I have waited a long time and this was the biggest letdown in my gaming history. I think this beat Duke Nukem Forever!

Give them some time and then try again, you are missing out on a great game. The 3 hours I played were awesome already  :tu:

Just the thought of a liquid cooling system makes my skin crawl. If that system is not properly maintained and cared for, you are asking for trouble. One leak, and all that fancy hardware is done for  :ahhh That‘s exactly what happened to a friend of mine years ago. He never had one again  :D

I think that’s pushing it, at first it was like I can only find ones with two fans and he wanted one with more, but he'd rather have it built then have dell stamp their name on it and not get half as much of the extras and pay twice as much!

I mean I can remember like 20yrs ago when I took the wife’s computer apart because the one fan was running a little slow, I took all the wires off and then slowly disassembled that thing by only the three freaking screws as if it was a neutron bomb, yet just to very slowly use a vacuum hose with a duct taped straw attached, now, the kid will jet rip his apart pulling chips and other things trying to make it better.. all while the kids only 16! I mean back then for me it was how the heck does the kid set the clock on the “vcr” lol..

maybe once I get settled in the new town, and some of the bugs are patched, and I have a normal internet connection and the price drops a little...

Like I said idk the first thing, I mean it sounds super cool! And as much as he’s on that freaking thing he would need something to keep it cooled!

Haven't played Cyberpunk in awhile. Not in a PC, but old school: lots of dice, pen and paper.

At 21 I had already stopped drinking alcohol for a year 😁.

Over here any 15 or 16 year old (which does not look like he or she is 11 or 12) will have no problem in getting a beer at the local Café, or at a party.

And on topic, my 15 year old son had warned me not to get this Cyberpunk game on PS4 a while ago, he said friends of his bought it and it was full of bugs.

Anyway, I've been enjoying DayZ a lot, these last weeks, and the new free game Vigor is also nice (can't beat that price, free... Wish Leatherman did the same for their Free  ;)).

Well I figured I would try it once again as there are a few patches. I bought the game, installed it and tried to get in. Dang...received the same error as before.

I tried a few things and this time, I was able to access the game by going into my Steam folder, and launching the game inside that folder. This bypasses Steam. Yay!  :woohoo:
