Victorinox Climber "Mammut Eiger Extreme"
on: December 17, 2020, 01:34:57 PM
Small review of the last arrived :)

It's a special series that is (apparently) created every year for the sports equipment brand Mammut and more specifically a collection called "Eiger Extreme".

There have already been a few models, but what really attracted me to this one is a (small) specificity that I will let you discover...

- The Victorinox and Mammut badge cardboard box

- The logos seem to be in the mass of the plastic (not "painted" on the surface)

- It is, indeed, a Climber...

]

- And here's the little trick that really interested me: the hook with the integrated nail file of the Compact!

There, not bad at all I find... It will become my EDC for a while.

I can see them alright :dunno:

Very nice Climber! First white one I've ever seen. There is a black one as well with the nail file on the hook. It should be standard on the hook!

I was expecting scales made from the tusks of a whooly mammoth...

Oh well, it's not awl bad. +1 on the filed hook for standard.

Impossible, Standard is basically Spartan so it's got no hook at all :D

:iagree: Yes, it's a part of the Mammut sport clothes and equipment collection called "Eiger Extreme" from 2019.

- The logos seem to be in the mass of the plastic (not "painted" on the surface)
As for me, they are painted. But I could be wrong.

- And here's the little trick that really interested me: the hook with the integrated nail file of the Compact!
AFAIK it's common for all Mammut Climbers.  :climber:

Interesting write up, but like TP I can’t see the pictures sadly!

Reinier - Siberian mammoth by any chance? Interesting executive - not heard about let alone seen one, thanks for sharing! :like:

Yes, I remember him screaming in Russian when I chased him :P

But seriously, I'm not sure.

I really like it. It was a fairly small production run in 2011, for the US market only. Mine looks pretty good I think (no, pfrsantos, DON'T!  :twak:), there were quite some bad ones with cracked and uneven scales.

How strange. In (MacOs) Safari (which never usually has problems) there are no pictures. In Opera the pictures are visible.

Nice Mammut... I occasionally was tempted by these. Had I known there was that fancy hook I'd have taken the bait.

Looks nice, and I really like that it has the file.   But, how much are they going for? I saw one on eBay that a seller wanted $118 for. Nope, not paying that!

Are there Mammoet (heavy haulage) SAKs?

That seems reasonable for what is being sold. $40 makes a whole lot more sense than $110.
