Fixed blade knife recommendations

Looking for something under 150 with a 3-4 inch blade, and a horizontal sheath. Also would be good if the knife was on the lighter side.

Welcome Vick!

What do you plan to use the knife for?

Carbon steel or stainless?

EDC stuff mainly. I like using sheaths instead of having my pockets all jammed up. Prefer horizontal carry too.

Two that come to mind are the Fallkniven F1 and the ESEE -3.

The F1 is a sweet little blade, but I don't believe either of the factory sheath options would support horizontal carry, so you would need to accept vertical carry, get an aftermarket horizontal sheath, or look elsewhere entirely.

The ESEE-3 sheath can be converted to horizontal carry with a piece of paracord, if you're so inclined.  The ESEE-3 is also available in several different steels, as well as handle shapes and colors.

While I agree with Steve that Bark River makes a quality product, for under $150 I think you'll find their options to be limited.

I think I’m going with the regular ESEE.

Bradford Guardian 3.

Saw it and looks really nice. The 3.5 version looks better the handle looks to small on the 3”.

I've been eyeing the ESEE Izula... A little under 3", but is endlessly customizable.

OP, if you are looking at Izula, I would strongly recommend the Izula II, the 1/2 in handle makes all the difference in the world.

I would also recommend Brisa Bobtail, Mora Companion, TM Hunt Skelemagua,

Some of these knives may not have a sideway sheath, but it is mountable by Tek Lok, Utilclip or even simple bicycle tubing.

The Izula is a good piece of kit.  Sadly, mine is MIA a the moment.  I definitely recommend the handle scales; they increase the thickness of the whole package, but give considerably more comfort and control when using the knife.

I've been very tempted by the Xancudo as well; looks like a great little knife.

I really like the CRKT Hunt'NFisch designed by Larry Fischer.  It is an ideal size for EDC and it comes with a horizontal carry leather sheath.  https://www.knifecenter.com/item/CR2861/columbia-river-2861-larry-fischer-huntn-fisch-fixed-drop-point-plain-blade-g10-handle-leather-sheath

There are a couple of fixed blade challenge threads where you can see the Hunt'N Fisch being used hard.  I even opened a coconut with mine, and the best part that Poncho and I both forgot to mention is that 100% of the net profits from sales of this knife go to support pancreatic cancer research.
