Cerakote - Worth it?
on: April 04, 2021, 08:07:41 AM
I see that Fenix has come out with various cerakoted versions of my current favorite light, the PD40R V2.  I'd like to have one in safety yellow or maybe blaze orange.  If it were 10% or even 20% more expensive than the standard version, I think I'd go for it.  But, at nearly 70% more expensive than the standard version, I'm having a hard time justifying it.  Any thoughts or experiences one way or the other?

I've just had a look at them and I wouldn't based on the higher cost.

The cerakote is done by a third party and not Fenix themselves.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Thanks.  That's the direction I was leaning as well.   :tu:

i really like the cerakote safety yellow and would probably splash out and treat myself to one if i did not already own a pd40r.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

If you have a reputable person do it, it will outlast anno, paint or just about anything else. Anything but HA3 or Ti nitride that is.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
