Just bought my first Wengers
on: January 09, 2021, 03:23:30 PM
I managed to source of couple of Wengers over Christmas and they arrived today. Came from an overseas supplier so was a tad unsure if they would arrive (Covid/Brexit/UK laws) but no problems at all.

The first one is a "Standard" (model 1.10.03?).

My initial reaction is mostly positive. Some of the differences with Vic knives are fairly obvious (and well known) but seeing and feeling IRL is a bit different.
I like the can opener, the nail file grit being on reverse side from main blade and the Wenger stamps/cross. Not so keen on toothpick/tweezer design. The chain I hope will grow on me  ;)

Not sure whether to make this an EDC knife or file it in collectables...

Second item seems to be a Crusader (President model?).
Not quite as well built as the Vic equivalent (the Escort) but does come with a superior carry pouch!

Am now well and truly in free fall down the SAK rabbit hole...

:tu: Fan of Wenger myself.  I always forget the model names.  I don't mind the chain and I do like how the T&T stows.  One thing I really like is the belly on Wenger main blades.

I’m also newish to Wengers (compared to 36+ years with Vic’s) and most of them I got as collector type items. But the one model I love is the PTC and have a handful of users.

I’m also not a fan of the chains...but haven’t given them much in the way of carry time either.
