Cold Steel Triple Actiom
on: January 15, 2009, 03:07:30 PM
I have seen this on the cold steel website, but I've heard that the handles are flimsy. Also, anybody know anything about the Scimitar? Any help would be much appreciated.

I wanted to get a triple action last year but for some reason, never got around to it.*  The test videos on Cold Steel's website shows the knife being used rigorously and it looks like the knife handles can hold up to a lot of abuse.

*Thinking back, I think it was the design on the handles that turned me off.  I like the double edge version but the handle pattern didn't interest me.  The tanto handle looks "ok" but still wasn't that exciting to me.

Well you obviosly havent played with tool steels. 01 , D2 or crucibles. Not that CS makes jusk, but there are better cutters out there.

In reality there is really nothing wrong with CS products. however After getting into steels and actually the higher end steels. there really is no comparison. However. Cs does have great cutters, but they are asking premium price for ordinary steel. You can get a great Benchmade griptillian in great steel for the same price as some Cs blades that the steel changes constantly.

I have only 2 cs products left. A 4 inch voyager, and the pushdagger I took from a kid 15 years ago. Both phenominal cutters, but the older company tools.

You can have mine. I'll pop it in the mail to you, but I don't know if customs will grab it or not???

Hey it was worth a shot :)

I do have a unusual large Sebenza up for trade. It has custom thumb studs and a custom pocket clip. I would call it a user. Maybe we can trade if you're interested?

Well, thanks to John I finally have one of these and I love it!  :D  It has got to be the most fun knife out there.

The quality actually isn't too bad and apart from the odd nick here and there on the handle not containing the blade (the one that can get hit) it feels pretty solid.  But these marks just don't matter as it is such fun to play with.  :D

If you are a big kid like me, get one!  You won't regret it.  :)

You should see the full version of that video.  :D

All of Cold Steels videos are a bit like that.  They clearly have issues against cardboard men.  :P

I like how they seem to feel the need to keep slicing up the cardboard men even after the cardboard men have lost their heads.  Do decapitated cardboard men keep coming until you filet their cardboard kidneys?  If so, I think that's where I might strike first...
