Leatherman vs Victorinox?  :D Actually I've seen that go nuclear before on other forums. How dare anyone have a different preference to my own :D

Of course we know the true answer is not only to own both but own lots of each!

It is tough to imagine finding this thread from a few years ago and not thinking it is an amazing foretelling about where we are right now regarding the Pandemic.

Just like Today there are those who foresaw the likelihood of a Virus like this and there were those who simply dismissed it for whatever reasons.

Pretty interesting I think?

Now what no one mentioned at all was that Prepping might involve huge stockpiles of Toilet Paper which is really bad planning I now know! :twak:

When I bumped it it was for the very reason of the mention of a pandemic.  Who would have known stock piles of TP would be a thing  :dunno:

We prep but no where near what the masses bought in the days following the shut downs.

When the shutdown and shortages of toilet paper and other things started, my wife learned my definition of running low on something didn’t necessarily match the average person’s and she was very appreciative.

As anyone who has first hand experience with hurricanes, blizzards, earthquakes, wildfires, etc; this pandemic and associated shortages has succeeded in showing some people that the “zombie apocalypse” isn’t the only reason to prepare.

I grew up where it was only natural to be prepared for the random snow storm closing roads for a week or different similar things.  I came to appreciate it when an ice storm caused power outages and roads to be shut down for about 10 days.  Then in adulthood first hand experience with hurricanes and wildfires, each solidified a little more the need to be prepared for anything to happen.

There are so many realistic scenarios that could happen with little to no notice and turn your life upside-down.  But instead of emphasizing those as reasons people should prepare, many just like to poke fun of the prepper who is waiting for the SHTF.

Sos,  :tu:.  The fact of having a few things we use regularly is a good thing.  We were good to go and never ventured out to panic buy.  I put a few thing I hadn't thought about on the shelves now but no where near what I saw others do.  We have a par we like to have and do our best to maintain that.  MTs, SAKs, and assorted knives on the other hand .
