Def, do they have any plans on making a Skeletool CX with a straight edge knife? Thanks

They never mentioned anything about putting the straight edge on the Skeletool CX.  I mentioned that I wanted something like that, but I think the suggestion fell of deaf ears :P

Maybe its the fact that the whole tool is shorter, but it seems like the blades on the freestyle models are a bit longer/bigger than their Skeletool counterparts. Anyone have exact info on length of the blades? By the way I like the design, and I absolutely LOVE the fact that they have the straight edge 154CM!  Seems like Im not the only one who enjoyed that changeover!

We did a side by side comparison of the Freestyle and the Skeletool at the Leatherman booth and they are exactly the same aside from the Freestyle not having the driver or the carabiner.

I wonder if on next year's Freestyle they will drop the knife blade too, making it even more minimalistic  :D

Does it look feasible to remove the plier and one handle to leave you with a just a Folder?

AND - does anyone thing that if this could be achieved via some simple mechanism that people would be attracted to the idea?

I remember some folk admiring a Coleman tool that you could unclip the in-handle tool selection from?

The coleman tool was way ahead of its time. I wish they really did follow up more on it.

Ok - that's the shot that did it for me. I think that looks fantastic. I hereby confidently predict that I will be EDC'ing a Leatherman Freestyle CX, very quickly after they are released. That will be virtually unnoticeable in a suit pocket.

A philips and a screw would be nice.

I don't have a Skeletool so I'm not sure but there seems to be a bit of waisted space where they have got rid of the bit exchanger on the Freestyle.  Is there no way they could have put in a fold out Phillips driver?  Keep the nice clean lines but retain some of the function.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Yes and no... they probably could have, but the way they did it allows for a nice place for engraving, which they always felt was a drawback to the Skeletool design.

I'm definitely getting a Freestyle CX when they come out. The Skeletool, while an interesting idea, was nit that comfortable for me. Getting rid of the screwdriver and the carbiner fixes that. I think the Freestyle CX will be great paired with an Explorer.

The Skeletool fits my hands perfectly as far as using the blade.  I'd like to handle this tool to check out the ergonomics.  Judging from the pictures it doesn't look like it would be comfortable in my man hands.

Well, here's my two cents.  I like it!

The only thing I'd like to see is to switch the pocket clip to carry it "tip up" so it's easier to get my hand past the thick end with the pivots in a pocket.

I'll bet my magnetic lanyard would work really well with this too.

Probably... I'll try to get some better pics taken tomorrow.  They are pretty sweet in person, although they've been whittled down to a blade and pliers so their overall usefulness is limited.

That's actually a pretty good idea.  The Freestyle would be perfect paired with a SAK.

I'm glad they lost the carabiner but would have preferred it if they'd retained one bit driver.

They missed a trick with the name too. Should have been called the Duotool.

Pliers and knife. Duo.... geddit?

Taking the carabiner and bit driver off only really removes like 1/6 the size and .5 oz.
