Happy 111! Late but I’m still here

A few uses from this week: fixed a door hanger thing, and sliced some tubing!

You're right Andy, almost everything anymore is pull tab.  That screwdriver is seriously heavy duty though!

Back to doing what it seems I do best...resurrecting long-dead threads... Here's one of the coolest 111mm Vics alongside two versions of its main competitor (the Assist I and the far rarer Assist II that doesn't have a glass-breaker since it doesn't have the tip on the point where it can push down and extend the glass-breaker). I like the dual blades on the Vic since it means that at least one of them can have a point (and still retain its glass-breaker).

Here's the GAK 2.0. Mine has kind of a sticky main blade compared to my other 111mms but it's still a fantastic tool.

I guess this is a double post but meh. Here's the Rescue Tool with I guess its direct predecessor, the Hunter (AKA Fireman). The tools are pretty similar but for the extra windscreen saw and glass breaker on the Rescue Tool. Astonishingly, their dimensions are pretty similar, even the weight.

Another Workchamp getting ready to do some “plus” screwdriver work.   My brother’s kids had trouble with flat and phillips, so, they became “minus” and “plus”.

I've owned a few 111s myself. They include a Soldier, Hercules and now a Skipper.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Getting ready to get this Hump Day started. Carrying this 111 to work today.  Scales are not original to this SAK, but I like them.

Wednesday I noticed the option to carry a 111mm on Wednesdays. I have been carrying 111's for last few months and have grown to like the extra blade length.

I rolled out with my Rucksack and used it to cut up some cheese and a bagel.

I am really enjoying the 111mm. I also have an Outrider that I roll on weekends and a Nomad in between.

I just need a Sentinel and an Alpineer and I'd be content.

Sonoran Desert Dweller

I might be about halfway through reading this thread.  I have a Rucksack (not sure what year) that I got from LynnLFay on here.  Slide lock and nail nick open.  I like it.  Good one for the day-pack.  The bottle opener and little screwdriver/ can opener tools are small for the knife.  Maybe the standard 91mm size.

Got a newer, one hand open, liner lock, black scales, I think is a Forester (Trekker?) from Spartan19 on here.  Like that one too.  The other tools seem to be a larger size and to me, the liner lock seems to be a more sturdy lock, unless my old Rucksack is just out of sorts.

I seldom carry these.  Not day to day for sure, mainly because they are a little bigger in the pocket and I have the Leatherman Rebar and the Tinker Deluxe.  Maybe if I left those both home and just carried the Vic Rucksack and my Leatherman Squirt...

I'm going to try the Gerber Dime and the Work Champ Andrew.  I like the 111 platform, especially the screwdrivers.  I only have 3 right now, the other two being the Hunter and a Vic Soldier Trekker.  I keep thinking it would make a great hiking knife, being just a larger version of the Hiker.

Maybe I can get a 111mm one of these days.  I have never seen one.  It doesn't seem like the hand contours would be relevant unless you had a single blade SAK.  When you grip it, all you feel is blade, and not the nice curvy parts.  Nice pix and posts.  Best wishes.  G

111mm SAKs are pretty neat. The only one I've ever handled is now in Germany. I'll have some that will stay with me, given enough time.
