One  thing I've gained from this Challenge is an appreciation of just how great an all around knife the 110 is...

but the 110 is a gorgeous knife and feels great in the hand.  For 99 percent of the Challenge, mine's been riding in the factory belt sheath....

 :iagree:

...I love the handle and the way it sits in my hand. The blade length is great for a wide variety of tasks. I really like the sharp clip-point design. I enjoy many other knives, but few, if any, are as nice to use. And the 110 is simple and reliable--no small springs to break, no tricky locks to clog up with lint. It works and it's proven. Not exactly an EDC knife, but one heck of a nice knife to have on hand.  :tu:

 :iagree:

It's the first real month for me with the 110 and couldn't agree more on what you two said.
The factory sheath work fine for me too.

Just seen this - Hilarious - The four bladed 110

PS. I don't think the 110 has the supremely useful hook, or constantly needed corkscrew - So I was out for this challenge

Day 22

Pretty busy day today, and 110 came home to serve a hotpot 'snack' duty for Mrs.  Pretty interesting design where a self heating pad will heat up the food in the hotpot soup, all you need is to add water at the bottom.  Second picture show a stream of hot air coming out of the container.
I'm really looking forward to the weekend for a breather.

  I find flint and steel to be a lot of fun. Might take a little experimenting to get the hang of it, but once you do you'll enjoy it--I'm sure!   :tu:

I know folks have been using this method for thousands of years so i'm a bit late to the party but, i'm impressed   :o  I did find though that i got on better with Amadou than char cloth, both worked well but the amadou seemed to be easier to catch the tinder and stayed burning longer, probably less hassle to make char cloth but the horse shoes are so easy to find in these parts it would be rude not to use them, i need to keep my eyes peeled when going around, so yep, new flint and steel fan here  :tu:  Although i'll keep my lighter just in case....

I would imagine a carbon blade with a bit of quartz would work too, if you dont mind bashing up your knife a bit that is, i remember as a kid bashing two quartz together to make sparks, never thought to add a bit of charcloth, which is probably just as well  :tu:

I have used hard, sharp quartz to strike some sparks. It works, but flint reigns supreme in my fire kit.   :tu:

Fool's Day 22:

The 110 liberated some tea from its packaging. Awl present were grateful.

Later, I pulled out the Buck and pulled a Peacent on a head of broccoli. Love the pointy tip for picking out cuts to make with precision.   :tu:

DAY 22

I didn’t need to cut anything today but the 110 came in as a good paperweight while doing my banking at work. Just a shame the money wasn’t mine
