What tool had to go to accommodate the scissors?

None, get rid of the spacer and bobs your uncle. You do have to lose the lanyard ring. you may have to thin the can opener a bit. It was a long time ago that I did the mod.

I believe all I did was rearrange the tools some, take out a washer or 2 and lose the lanyard ring  I went by what Steve and a few others had already done :tu:

I’m strongly considering getting a second Rebar, but also getting what’s needed to modify it to have the one tool I want; scissors. I’m contemplating one of the Coyote and Black units, with custom artwork of a Coyote on the tool. I’m coming up on the five year anniversary of my father’s passing. However, I’ve already picked up a SOG PowerLock I’m slowly modifying as he carried a small SOG tool with him every day to work.

What I’d really like, is an emerald green Cerakoted Rebar, with stonewashed or satin finished tools. I know to get that, I’d likely have to have it custom made, or do it myself. While not as convenient, I may just carry my Free T4 when I sport my Rebar.

Which scissors work or fit in the Rebar?

@ Strange Toolbot

Here's what I did some years ago  :salute:

You've got to be careful not to overload the handle. The locking rocker pins need to fully test within the respective holes in the handles. Or they might slip out our wear down to easy.

If I can get one in good shape, and customize the tool loadout a bit, I’m getting one. It’d be nice to have a “icon” in my collection.

I’m not a big fan of black oxide coatings on tools.

That's Strange

... just kidding. May I ask if it's for a specific reason? I can understand that one might not like the used look it gets (wearmarks), same for the patina on some tools/knifes with brass bolsters or CV steel.

I don’t care for the “cleanup” I have to do on a brand new tool. When I get a new multitool, I optimally want to be able to use it right away.

Most of the new tools don't require a clean up,  just a little bit of a wipe down unless you don't care to have black on your hands with use for a while  not much different than spraying a new tool down with some type of oil and wiping it down before initial use

I prefer the toolset of the PST II a bit more because of the scissors and diamond file bit the plain edge blade of the PST is better to me :salute: might try and pick both up and swap some tools out like that :tu:

I would prefer to wipe down the tool, than to get it all over my hands in use.

I see what you mean  :hatsoff:
I kind of enjoy it though. I do wipe all new MT's off with a microfiber cloth, and BO ones with some Ballistol oil before that.

I do something similar with my BO tools, too. I have a honing oil I rub in wherever I can, and then a pivot oil for any hinges and joints.
