March 30 Day Pen Challenge
on: February 22, 2021, 05:16:18 PM
Day 0
Once the Poker Challenge is done and dusted I'm finally going to embark on my personal pen challenge journey.
So far this is just a placeholder, but come March I'll be posting a daily pic of a pen and 'haps a blade also.
Now, I don't have a real pen collection, but I'll be posting pics of pens that I have and cherish.
Some cheapos, some real adult pens, some searched for, some just stumbled on....

That sounds like fun.... is there a badge for that?

There is indeed a badge for it, but I think the challenge was to carry the same pen for 30 days.

Hmm,
I’ll have to check, but if memory serves it says ’a pen’ and I thought that multiple pens would be allowed/preferred.

I was thinking it more of a challenge to change pens instead of simply carrying one for the duration.

Well, powers that are will have their say, and I’ll obey :)

If Mods will allow more than one pen, I'll be your sidekick. This because at work, I write with fountain pens with regular nibs since its easier for my arthritic hands as I'm required to do an intervention note every time I see a participant; I use ballpoint (preferably black ink) for errands (and, since COVID, a clicky/retractable so as not to have to fumble with caps and easier to sanitize) and marking in general, and for journaling I tend to use FP's with architect or italic grind nibs.

So, if Mods allows, count me in!   :tu:

Question to the mods then:

Is pen challenge meant for one pen or is use of multiple pens allowed?

Ok, the definite answer is yes ;)

Go ahead and use multiple pens

I do believe that the original challenge had 1 pen and only that pen was used as a writing utensil all month  so at least try not to use other writing utensils beside what you are carrying for that day :tu:

Don Pablo was the one who came up with that original Pen Challenge as well

Hence, come 1 March I’ll start cracking (or should I say toodling?)!

Given a general title we might attract others as well?

You know, I've been considering one of these challenges to ease myself into MTO life. I've not got the right gear for any of the up and coming "collective" ones and I use a pen every day for work, so this works for me. I'm in. :tu:

Day 1:30

Midnight here so, March 1st and my official first challenge! :woohoo:

Since today will be a work-from-home/virtual classroom day, only the Lamy Vista with an EF nib will be out. Because the school authorities requires the use of blue ink, it is inked with Baystate Blue.

Well, I'm starting out with this random blue gel pen the kids left at my desk.

Good thing I don't have to do much writing at the moment.

Day 1:
MCipollini pen. This is really a normal metal frame cartridge pen with supposedly a carbon fibre insert in lower part of the frame. I think these were/are only available in US. Took me some searching to locate one. Being s Super-Mario fan and not willing to shed the money needed for a Cipollini bike (also, they are not really meant for old powerlifter type of bodies) this was more obtainable  and in reality sees more use than say, a Bond would

Seen here with SwissChamp leaving the gym this morning after documenting mornings session

Day 1:

Not as cool as everyone's fountain pens and fancy pens, here's the Fisher Cap-o-matic I'm using for online school.
You'll be seeing a lot of it...
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Day 1

In keeping with a mutitool environment, I'll be using my Signature Lite for the majority of things. Occasionally I have to write something in black ink, in which case the pen with the old British Rail Intercity swallow logo on it will get used instead.

But it's a week off work today and I need to make a start on sorting out the tip I'm currently living in, so today we just have the start of a simple list of things that need to be cleared...

Nice start, people; liking a lot your choices.

Thank you Poncho for your good wishes.

Don Pablo, if you don't mind me asking, is the pen's refill a blue medium or fine?

Anyway, good luck everyone. :tu:

Day 1

I’m a nurse working in a federally recognized tribal health system. I use a pen daily. I carry two (the other is a Fisher Bullet). For the last 3-4 years I have carried this Maxmadco bolt action in titanium. I love it dearly!
