I was led here by tiny shiny red sirens- Nice to meet you.

new around here and was drawn in by the Swiss Army knife allure. Akin to some kind of tiny shiny red sirens- They can take ahold of you and possess you causing you to do things like- talk about Swiss Army knives to the point where your girlfriend tells you she doesn’t want to talk about Swiss Army knives anymore. And several other awkward SAK related situation’s which I need not go into.

The first multi tool/pocket knife that I ever carried was a Victorinox Swiss Army knife- the standard size- Tinker. My father gave it to me when I was just a boy. I loved that knife. I still carry a tinker to this day on my keychain- sadly not the original- which was lost rolling around in the wild woods many years ago. I carried the standard Tinker for many many years until within the last few years I began to pocket EDC the Explorer model by Victorinox.

Whether it’s hiking, camping, wildcrafting, gold prospecting, bushcraft, or fieldwork the Explorer always performs well and has me covered. I am very pleased to make all of your acquaintances and look forward to further correspondence.
Cheers

Howdy from Houston! Don't let the allure of red go to your head. Often things pliery are also great fun!

Welcome home

You'll find those who are willing to discuss the most intimate details of all things Swiss Army Knives, here. There's something almost magical about these things to many of us, often inspired by stories and experiences that span generations.

Explorer and Tinker are solid choices.

If you have trouble posting pictures, it's because they need to be under 500 kb. I use an ap on my phone called "Compress Photo Puma" which does the job nicely.

There are other ways to do it, too, and a help thread for it somewhere....ah here we go...

Thank you for the kind welcome. Sadly my Leatherman sits on a lonely shelf covered in a thin layer of dust I may need to resurrect it from its slumber.
