At £34.95 I'll stick with the home made one I was given by a member on here.

Can anyone tell me if this driver has teeth?  I contacted Leatherman and one of their reps told me that it didn’t have teeth. Is the mechanism actually gearless?  I got the feeling that she was clueless.

I'm interested whether it will fit in the side pockets of my charge sheath.

Someone said on another site that it fits perfectly. I would like to see pictures though.

Pomsbz, from the description and video (leatherman ratchet driver by nasheer, found in YT) it will fit in the large side pocket of the newer nylon snap close; either 4" or 4.5" types.

Edit- here's a screenshot from the video:

Thank you both! I'm buying one the moment I find them on Amazon (cheap international shipping).

Out of stock in three days...I knew some of us played with the idea, and some even made units themselves but, was it that popular and expected!?!?!?! And this is an honest question, people, I' m amazed that sotck is already out at Leatherman.

It went out of stock at Blade HQ the same day as well. You might try REI.

It's great LM did this. I made one awhile back but it was bulky.  I'm a little hesitant about the cost for this    Sure seem fair so we'll see how long before I pull the trigger.  Hopefully stock will be plentiful.

Well, it came in, my ratchet bit driver is here!  :mail: Came in yesterday but, due to a 12-hour poweroutage I had to wait until today to pick/open up.

Thank you, Mc.  :hatsoff:

First look: liking that it is light, very compact, (it does fit without being bulky in the large side pocket of the newer nylon sheath), detents and locking/directional mechanism appear solid, fits in the bit driver of the Waves and Removable Bit Driver just like the regular extender (and as a matter of fact fits into any 1/4" driver); there is some play between the shaft/base and ratchet driber but, I think it is inherent to the design as it could allow it to flex and reach screws/bolts/nuts at an angle; I do not think of it as a flaw but more like a pseudo universal joint. The magnet for the bits hold them pretty well, including the #0 and small flat (maybe the tolerances in the driver had been also tightened). My peeves: although it is 420hc like the regular extender, its finish is somewhat duller, like sandblasted, and I would've preferred for it to be less "noisy"; trying to see how or what to use to lube it and make it less noisy. I think it will be a good attachment to have as it is practical, convenient and easily carried so, I'm glad to have it. During the weekend, I'll be using it to test how it performs so, if anyone is interested, I could post my findings.

Thanks Juan  :hatsoff:

It looks like they still don't add nodges for the retention ring/springs. Due yo that they do not sit very secure in non-magnetic type bit holders.

I did file them in to mine to have it held securely in my mini ratchet...

This is one reason why I like this ratchet. Bits do not push through...

But double sided Leatherman bits work fine...

Thanks for that video link RP   :salute:

Although I think that the destruction test he did on the ratchet driver was faulty. He did seem to bend it over the vise's edge too much, so the ratchet driver should not have broken at that point.

Still, it appears to exceed the ability of the Wave's torque range. So no one using the ratchet driver in a Wave should worry. That's what I'm getting from his tests  :tu:

Good comparison of the ratchet bit used with various multitools.
