…Max - another HP I never knew about before! :tu:
:hatsoff:  …that’s just how most collections start  :D

Day 18
Conference calls today so not much use for the Orange Alox. It was temporarily AWOL yesterday as it escaped my tracksuit pocket. Wife said “…you know you left your little knife on the sofa…”  I think I know why most people keep their 58s on a keyring.

Today’s HP is the 71B. This a launch year sample from 1984. Uses a very powerful version of BASIC but was expensive in its day and ditched RPN for algebraic expressions. One of the Holy Grail calculators for many collectors.  :tu:
Hi Max - 71B great.  I’m keeping a look out but for a perfect example - with the port covers and no scratches…. Well done!

Day 18

Another sunny day deserves the yellow MC. Little for it to do however, other than a quick trim of the old nails.

Day 18.
Been contemplating the Go Big challenge, next month.  Didn't want to use the Super Timer then I remembered this one, that my youngest daughter's boyfriend gave me, for Christmas a couple years back.
I'm guessing that he did because he got her pregnant, IDK, but I'm not one to turn down a knife.🙄

Figured it was at least time to get it out.   I'm guessing that it's a Tool Chest.  10 layers and bigger than the Super Timer.

My trusty MiniChamp did fine work on cutting the paracord for a lanyard.

That looks like an EvoGrip 54 with locking blade so S54?

I love Lego and I love SAK...so this crossover is inevitable.  Every SAK is awesome!
That is pretty awesome

DAY 18  We're getting ready to move, so I used the MiniChamp to free a tape gun so I can wrap up other stuff.  Then used the screwdriver on it as well.

That tape gun will be handy.  Good luck on the move.

DAY 18

The Esquire is a package opening son-of-a-gun. My temp controller shorted out a couple of weeks back and I could not repair the surface mounted electronics. This is a serious problem for a competition BBQ guy. So I found a used replacement on another forum.
Do we get to see picks of the BBQ.  then again maybe it would just make me want it

Day 18. Rambler cutting some slots in an old cardboard box ... so I can do a little comparison between my various Ti Sporks. I'll admit here and now it's a collection ... and on a whim I thought I'd see how they compare.

So here are the Toaks, Lifeventure and Light My Fire sporks in profile. I feel a review coming on ....

Day 18:

Esquire opened up a fun little package today.

These are specs that just sit on the bridge of one's nose. No arms. They just cling on like a butterfly.

The idea here is that they are back-up specs in case your primary pair goes missing or become damaged. These days my old eyes don't read all that well without specs. This pair tuck into a handy little carrying case ( black box in the background ) and will get stashed in my EDC bag.   :tu:

Day 18 ( bonus lunch shots ):

Brought home a few shrimp from the market today. Gulf shrimp. That is important to say, since Gulf shrimp are my favorites!

The Esquire split and cleaned 'em up:

The Esquire may just be the perfect tool for this job. The thin blade slices cleanly and tracks well. I usually use a kitchen paring knife to remove the 'vein', but the 65mm does equally well or better.   :tu:

The shrimp got seasoned with salt, pepper, and  Limón-Chile spice blend from World Spice Merchants. ( They sent me a sample with my last order. So far, I like it! ) After getting awl dressed up, the shrimps hit the grill for some fast and furious action.

 :ahhh  Tacos!   :ahhh

I tried to argue that since I was bigger, I should get six shrimps; but Mrs Nix was having none of that and demanded an even split. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.....  :dunno:

Ok then, thanks Fast Bill.
Now where does one go to find a pair of tweezers for a Wenger?   I got plenty replacements for Vic's.  Only ones I see on eBay are from the Ukraine.

Day 18

The orange peeler on the Minichamp demolished the clamshell packaging on a new Vic sharpener. Gave the pull through a test on my Swisscard blade and very pleased!

I theory, these have an adhesive patch that can be used to stick the case onto the phone. I haven't committed to that idea yet.

Once upon a time they were called “pince-nez” because they gripped your nose (in the eighteenth century)….. From a spec wearer from the age of 3….

Thank you!  I knew there was a correct term for these, but I couldn't dig it out of my memory bank. ( Another fun trait of tripping over the half-century mark....?    )

Day 18

The Mini Champ opened, then broke down, some boxes. But I forgot to get a picture.   :(

Needless to say, the boxes are now in no shape for a dramatic recreation.

So I'll have to post a glamour shot, as some others have called it.
