Sorry if I reawaken this beautiful old thread   :)

Old long ribbed cadet with a "SAK-coin inlay" and Zehnräppler (Swiss ten centimes).
This coins holds a world record, the nummatists among you will know.

I realy have no idea what the record is, but looking at the pics... I think the old coin is still legal tender.

What a nice thread this is! Never saw it before. Stupid me missed it completely!

Thanks Aloha  :hatsoff:

Exactly, EMZ,  it's about age.  :tu:

This coin from 1879 is the oldest common legal tender in the world that is still being produced today.

Awesome!

I love elongated pennies as souvenirs. Cheap and a good way to remember an event.

Me and my oldest daughters have been getting them when we go places.
My wife and I have a few of these from different places we have gone.  They are really nice for a cheap way to remember a place.

I picked up the 1907 coin off the ground while walking at the flea market.  I added the others coins just for fun.  Made sense to add my Explorer since it does have the mag glass  :tu:
