Day 1

A gentle start for my Ti scaled modified PX - using the main blade to open some post up. I got the scales from Mike’s mods in Australia last year - I think they’re great! I got the blade from a German shop’s peace knife harvester.

Easter is coming... So a hot cross bun seemed appropriate. I wonder if I can do 30 days with a different bun each day? Probably not a good idea.
Here’s to the start of our challenge

Day 1 ... so far ...
Used the PX to open some Mail and most importantly some new coffee. Also used it to screw the handle to a fence post auger (sinking a new washing line post in the garden) - needed a flathead screwdriver. Then thought to ensure my PXs look their best I would replace the parachord on them. This meant using the awl on each plus the scissors to replace the parachord on the other! But really it was an excuse to try my new usb lighter ...

I'm not taking part in this one, so I can carry what I want for a few months  :ahhh

However, in tribute to you awl, here's the L.E 2021 posing outside.

This is, despite its green appearance, a Mandarin tree. So, orange + orange = orange(s) x2

Have a great challenge and I'll chime in every now and then

Day 1

So let it begin, my pioneers are ready.

Today I worked in the garden. Cutting the Gras with the machine, didn’t know how it’s called in English. German is Rasenmäher.
Fastened a screw with the blue Px, but made no picture.

I would love to join in but as a shift worker, and not retired/rich like yourself, I really only have limited time to carry anything outside of work (Surge)

Basically, I'm limited to 10 days out of 30 and living in a town centre I can't find the useage for most challenges (my screws etc. are fully tightned) Also, I have yet to find a need for the saw on the FX (PX I hear you cry

I'm also enjoying not being tied down to a challenge. I've added to my meagre collection since joining MTO and want to use some of them as the good Lord intended  :dunno:

Day 1

First day of the challenge and the PX came in handy on two occasions as I was preparing and packing for a photo shoot in a few hours. I wanted to remove the tether on my camera battery grip, but needed something to loosen the loop. I almost used the awl but then changed my mind since I didn't want to risk damaging the tether. The small flathead on the can opener came in handy instead. Right after that, I wanted to screw in my tripod plate which the beefy bottle opener flathead somewhat worked. The groove was too shallow/wide and a hex key definitely would've worked better but I'm glad to know that the PX can tighten or loosen the plate in a pinch.

Included a bonus picture of said camera. Fujifilm X-T2 + battery grip and the Fujifilm 56mm 1.2

Put a bit of heat-shrink tubing on the Nite Ize clip to prevent scratching and engage steath-mode. We'll see how I like it over the course of this challenge. Had her on me for daily work duty - boxes, tape, wire, an errant nose hair or two. The usual.

That’s a shame but understandable. However, I should point out that I’m neither rich nor retired, far from it sadly!

Day 2

Still carrying my modded Ti scales today, and fancy a mid-morning snack after a bit of light weeding around the emerging Spring flowers - seem to be taking their time this year, and with the cold wind blowing doubtless it’ll be a few more weeks before the tulips flower - anyhow, the scissors opened up a pack of pistachios, yum!

Thanks for sharing @Mad Scientist- is that the Nite Ize ‘hip clip’? If so, how do you find it? I have an old beat up climber (I think it is) and was thinking about trying it on there - a few YouTube videos around (not many in English) showing some Mods of SAKs using it - it seems to work?

Which way round do you have it? Other end to blade so the clip is at the very back presumably? Does it work?

Day 2
A simple and low use day today - opening some post, deconstructed some boxes for recycling, changed emergency battery back up on smoke alarm using the small flathead screwdriver... and plan on putting it to further use on some beer bottle caps later this evening!

  Knew I’d forgotten something!!

Mid smoke alarm opening ... which thinking about it also means therefore I’ve used the screwdriver as a pry bar too!

Day 2

Today was a relatively uneventful day but the scissors came in handy for snipping some thread. Currently learning how to sew so I can stitch up some of the small holes in my shirts.
