Day 3

Still carrying my Ti scaled mod, this time I used the awl to open up a package of more gumstick batteries.

Day 3

Another multi-action post today. Packages and breakfast. The PX will probably (definitely) open a beer later as well, but the way the rugby league has gone I won't be in the mood to stop and take pictures.

Day 3 ... success and failure

A modest morning: needed to retape my escrima sticks (it is a Filipino weapons based martial art). Lock down means we no long attend the club at the moment and cannot train together, touch or spar, but we are trying to carry on training somehow and as a result the sticks have hit a lot of tires lately and need a little TLC .... less enter the dragon, and more enter the tiny scissors and some gorilla tape ...

And a pause for coffee ...

But ... needed to cut down/cut back a plant in the garden which was just too much for the PX and so ended up getting my Swiss 7 (a bit like a Farmer) to use the (massively impressive) wood saw. Not a job for the PX, sadly!

Another hike.  Used the can opener to remove a staple.

Can't believe we're 10% of the way through the challenge  :P. Today the PX was on package opening duty and the awl did a fantastic job of cutting through the tape and cardboard. I have to say, I might be a Alox convert now since the awl has come in so handy with cutting through things that I don't want to get tape or sticky residue on.

The awl is awlsome at such tasks, Tim00 - the lack of gunge collection is a real bonus!  :tu:

No huge use - just opened a couple of Amazon boxes. But one contained a new victorinox clip!

Bank Holiday. No work. No deliveries to open. Just companionship on the longest walk I've done in over 6 months.

Nice to get out and about!

Day 5

Thought it was time to change the battery out of my ancient and cheap DMM - used the mini-screwdriver on the can opener of my Xmas special PX on the 2 self tapping Philips screws to loosen and retighten them - much to my surprise (and shame, let’s be honest!) I found that it still had the original 9V carbon nickel battery in it with an expiry date of 05/99!! Put a fresh alkaline battery in its place and tested the old battery which still seems to be functional..... How on earth does a nearly 25 year old battery keep working, (I bought the DMM in 1997) and how come it hadn’t leaked all over the place?! I’m sure if it had been an expensive bit of kit it would have!

Nice traditional there! Is it a Case? I’ve a few of their Sodbusters and also a couple of Canoes ... what’s the pattern and what’s the handle material?

Actually this was taken seconds before the Labrador ran in, barged both cats out of the way (only one pictured) and started eating their food ... chaos
