Your link goes to a CRUNCH review, not a CORE review.  Is that right?

I sure am glad I didn't point that out Tom...  Great review of the CRUNCH though.  It looks pretty cool.  I bet you sit in front of the TV or keyboard just flipping it open and closed don't you Def  :)

Yeah, that's right.  I wrote the Crunch review a while ago and just posted it now.  I wrote a Core review today and haven't posted it yet.  It's been one of those days....

Core review should be up tomorrow, or even maybe later tonight.

The Crunch review was good - meant to say that.  I guess I'll have to work on one handing mine a while.

Ditto that nice review feedback. (I like the idea of the video link. Cool!)

Hmmmm, I noted mention of the "secret" wire stripper notch in the Crunch's handle when I first got mine, but I've never actually tried it. I wonder if very many people have?

I love the Crunch but it is just too small, useful only for small work. I just wish they would bring out a bigger model. If the folded size was the same as most other tools it would allow another half inch or so to the jaw opening. A lot more practical yet still comparable to most multis in size when closed.

Dave

Oh the wire stripper does work but a bit of a fiddle compared to the alternatives.

I was stripping some wire a few days ago but unfortunately I didn't think of using the Crunch for it.  I actually ended up using the E4 instead, although in hindsight there was more than enough wires to have compared several tools.

I guess I have to get another new stereo now and try it again....

They know me there....  it's kind of a funny story actually.  There are 6 or 7 of them in the city and almost all of them are on my daily run.  Well, former daily run- I don't work there anymore but that's beside the point.  The first store I went into was aout the only one in the city that didn't have any, so they checked the other stores and told me there were piles of them almost everywhere else.  So, I told them that I may not make it to any others and the wrote me a rain check.  An hour later I had the stereo from another store, so now that the sale is over I can still get another one at almost half price!

Now if only I had another car to put it in....

You must be double jointed or something....I've been trying to flip my Crunch open and closed one-handed since yesterday. So far I've managed to pinch myself a few times, that's about it.   :(

Def did say in the review that his was second hand, I think his is well bedded in. I could not get the ball catch to clip on one handed on mine it has to be pushed on with my other hand and the jaws take a heck of a lot of pressure to push up to get it in position for the catch to clip on.

You have to actually snap it in with the ring finger.  Get your finger under the center part, guide it in with your middle finger and push with the third finger.  Once you do it once you won't be able to put the durned thing down for hours.

I picked mine up on my lunch break and took it with me in the truck when I was working.  I kept putting it down and realizing a minute later I had picked it up and was playing with it again!

Bob, I very gently squeezed the catch with pliers to make it looser and I can now do it. Do it a bit at a time and you will soon find the right place.
Def, you are going to have to put 'Health Warnings' all over this site,  this is yet another addiction you have passed on.  ;)

My left hand has gotten pretty good at folding the Crunch away......but it still can't get it folded out and ready to use.

My right hand can't do either one.

You have to ease that clip to make it weaker so they can clip together with pressure from your finger. FWIW you can tighten it up if you make it too slack. I just used the Gerber with the catch still in the handle.

Dang, and here I thought I was doing good by figuring it out all on my own... now I see how much I have to learn!
