I love the blade shape on that 8) Black blade with the plain handle would be a very nice knife :)
Life is like a sandwich...the older it gets the crustier it becomes!

For $100 I wish it would have something better than aus 8 thou.

That's MSRP, and for the fancier one.  I am sure the 'net prices will be $50-60 for the regular and $60-70 for the one I have.

Aus 8 can be decent if the heat treat is good.

They don't stay sharp long in me experience.

So it's not too bad then.

Aus 8 is still a pretty good steel.  Sure it's a bit "dated" compared to super steels like 154CM and S30v, but it is still good.  I have a couple of folders made of Aus 8 and they hold their edge pretty well.

I had some bad experiences with aus line of steel so that ruined their image for me.

Aus 6 I'm not keen on as it just feels soft, but Aus 8 I find OK.

I remember when AUS 6 and it's sister steel ATS-34 were the steels to have.  But I guess we only cut soft stuff back then....

ats 34 still is, at least for me, but I don't think aus6 come even close to it.

If you get away from the Frost line of fantasy knives look of it.

That's what I thought, too. I think the Rainbow Leek is still purdier.
