on: April 11, 2021, 09:12:19 PM
Brand Performance Tools 4160

Pros: low price; magnetized; demagnetized; large range of Torx, hex, Phillips, straight edge driver bits; small sockets; short extender;  long flexible extender;

Cons: no 1/4” converter to 4mm converter; no ratchet; not Wiha durable

Work around: replace the few you wear out with frequent use with individual Wiha bits.

Brand: Wiha 77965 11 in 1 Micro Bit Driver

Pros: ratchet; by once cry once durability; quarter inch to 4 mm converter

Cons: no flexible extender; a lot of by once cry once bit heads you may not use much.

Work around: look for a flexible extender; or buy a cheap micro bit set for the flex extender.

Dont the Cybertool need double sided bits with the ball to keep from falling out?

I have several that are single ended and long enough but still wont work without the ball in them.

I found a Performance Tool set and the magnetized bits seem to stay put.  But it’s not optimal.

Best kit to go with your CT, without adding a magnet is from Kraftwerk
Only kit I found that has a spring loaded ball for retention.

Alternatively, you can simply glue a small magnet into your CT. Works fine and allows you to use any precision bits (e.g. Wiha).
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Some Wiha bits seem to have a retention ball

Are you saying that the bits are already magnetized right out of the box?

If you have a few 4mm bits that you use a lot a drop of super glue hold a 3mm magnet on the bottom of a 4mm bit. If you want you can paint a few coats of clear finger nail polish to make it fit a 6mm CT.

A easy down and dirty way to use common 4mm bits in a CT you can buy a screw driver tip magnetizer and demagnetizer from the hardware store for a few bucks. You can magnetize the the CT bit holder in seconds and you demagnetize just as fast.

My PT kit has bits that are magnetized and a magnetizer gadget.

Is this set still available? Cannot find it anywhere :dunno:
