You NEED a MORA GAW.

I got a Classic and I always forget the size .  Then I got a Companion which I gave to my daughter.  I then got another Classic which is little and IMO perfect.  I love this little Mora.  Its a fun knife plus after watching Dual Survival with Cody, I was determined to get one like him.

Now this is off topic a little, but mentioning Cody, have you read his book “When All Hell Breaks Loose”.  I thought it was interesting read and a different take.

I have not.  I got his 98.6 Degrees when I first hear of him.  I will pick that book up tho.

I have a couple of Mora's, and have to say whoever wins their first one is in for a pleasant surprise

:D.  How can a knife be so underrated yet be so high value?  I guess at a time when folks wanted 1/4 inch slabs of steel or high dollar customs the Mora quietly did its job in the hands of those that knew.  I love my little Mora Classic.

I think that is partly it and partly the cheap knives that are cheaply built making people shy away from Mora.  There are so many cheaply made knives out there that aren’t worth the price, that if you haven’t heard about Mora, you might see the price tag and basic looks and not want to risk it.

Your generosity is boundless Aloha  :salute:

I've never had a Mora, I've had a companion on my list for a while now, an affordable fixed blade that I wouldn't mind bashing on a little bit and I think has a 90 spine  for steels. But as funds came up other things always take priority and they don't seem to increase in price significantly... and not it's like 9 years later  :dunno:

Less than 24 hours left and only three entries for the GAW, either people are missing it or lots of Mora owners on this forum.

I know the fewer entrants means better chance to win, but I thought I’d give a bump anyway because it is also about Aloha’s generosity.

Better chances for you 3  :woohoo:.  I figure after the winner gets their Mora and uses it they'll also sing the praises.  I just want someone to have a Mora who hasn't had one.

Great garden knife.  Need to cut a branch or a plastic pot?  Got some bags of mulch or soil that need to be opened without ripping?  Garden twine needing to be cut to length?  I cut the bottom of  2 liter and smaller bottles so I can use them for starting seed or cuttings.  The Mora is a very good knife for all my garden chores.

Congratulations GearedForwards! The rest of you really need to get a Mora.  You're going to wonder how you ever got along without one.

Between this thread and a thread on a different forum, I have been convinced and just placed one on order. I figured I’d try a Companion, which seems to be one of the most popular.

Swiss members seem to trip over all kinds of cool SAKs and they're available everywhere for pennies at yardsales. Does this work with Swedes and Moras? Do you just end up amassing a horde of fixed blades throughout your life?

Nice color combination Sos.  You cannot go wrong with your first Mora.  I'm loving the classics these days myself.  Got in a little Erik Frost Mora over the weekend.  Here it is with my KJ Mora in classic red.

Congratulations GF!

And to answer your question, most people I know have many moras but they mostly have moras workers knifes that a lot of people use as disposable knifes

You can find the Mora basic for 1-2 euros now and then, the higher end Mora's usually for 15-80 depending on the model, the Garberg is around the 80 euro I think :tu:

Excellent givaway Aloha, congrats to GF for winning. :like:
What a wonderful way to make people aware of Mora knives.

Here is my Mora collection:

Craftline, Chisel, LightMyFire, Companion Spark, Companion.

They are truly amazing. Inexpensive, tough, sharp, comfortable.
Even the sheaths are nice. The Craftline and Chisel sheaths are interchangeable, and can attach to one another.
The Companion Spark is a Companion with a LMF ferro rod in the handle. The LMF is the Companion's handle (plus ferro rod and lanyard hole) but a shorter and thinner blade.
I want to also get the Cork handle one, the Eldris, the Garberg and maybe a few others.

It's a great knife!

I just ordered a Bahco 2444 (also from Sweden) to match the colors of my other Bahco tools.
