Colour: Signal Yellow
Models: Classic, Rambler (this will be a huge surprise for everyone), Cadet, Bantam and Pioneer x (yes, another surprising move with 5 models)
A Signal Yellow Bantam would be awlsome. I'd have to buy multiples of that one!

One to four layers of SAK is (usually) best for me.

I highly doubt Victorinox is selling over a million knives a day. They can't possibly manufacture that many.

The thing that just totally confuses me is that in this era of precise control over manufacturing and production, Victorinox still doesn't offer us the ability to create custom configurations of their core Swiss Army Knife product lines. Clearly there is a market for it.

And some of the configurations they *do* offer leave me scratching my head, as do obvious possible configurations they *don't* offer.

Maybe with KnifeCenter featuring the Rambler so often in recent videos, we'll finally see an Alox Rambler as a regular production item.

As for 2022's limited edition color, I'd like to see black Type III hard-anodised Alox.

That would be cool. I'd like one in green Alox.

My guess:
Colour: Signal Yellow
Models: Classic, Rambler (this will be a huge surprise for everyone), Cadet, Bantam and Pioneer x (yes, another surprising move with 5 models)

Alox Rambler is not a bad guess! :)
I'm putting my money on a Cadet X in the lineup and either gray or black.

Could it be like this then?
Alox Rambler
Cadet X
Pioneer

Reading through this thread I am really confused if there is talk or even if they are gonna discontinue to Cadet .  What the heck are you thinking Victorionx?

Anyways, I tend to agree with Ether, if they cut a lot of their models streamlining their offerings and bring back the 84mm scissors they'd seeing some very happy people spend cash.  I know the Classic is a great knife but seem a lot of investment into just that?  Fuyume has some valid points.  Its not something we haven't griped about before either.  Some of their configurations leave us  and the ones we have all asked for are not available.

I thought the Damast Vics did well?  I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Explorer.

The Explorer is still available at Knifecenter and Amazon.  I haven't heard of it being DC-ed.

:iagree: oh yeah that’d be great. I’ve got a black pioneer with red shield and it’s a beauty

Sad news about the cadet. I just gave mine away to my father in law. He really liked the file when I showed it to him. So I promptly boxed then wrapped it and presented it to him next time I saw him. Now the Cadet is one of his favorite EDCs. IMO The only other knife that has a good file like the cadet is the executive. It’s a mystery to me why they would discontinue The only two models they have with good files for grooming. I’m not a fan of the other files they are basically like using crumpled up aluminum foil as a file.   :twak:

Although I have heard rumors that they are going to bring back the executive.  :dunno:

If the Cadet is going away, that sucks.

But! The Sportsman, since 2018 I think, has the Cadet-style file instead of the older rough patch. So, there's that.

Thanks Marlowe- I didn’t know the sportsman had the cadet style file  :woohoo:
I’ll keep an eye out for that one

Is the Cadet  confirmed as gone? It'd be a shame and a little weird, thought it was one of their more popular models, certainly one of my favourites.

I sure hope not. It's the only alox model I'm remotely interested in - I'm a cellidor guy all the way. The Cadet has been on my "get eventually" list but it would shoot straight to number one if it's going out of production!

I don't have a newer Cadet but if they are going away I wouldn't mind getting a pink one.

What kind of file do the older ones have? I’m guessing the older ones have the less robust file?

The older ones have the same file that's on 58mms, like a roughened patch, the new ones have a serrated file, like the Executive.

My father-in-law who is 86 describes it as
“like trying to file something using crumpled up aluminum foil“

Whilst the new style is certainly more aggressive, I've never had any issues filing my nails with the older style  :dunno:
