Ice cream and potato chips are my weakness (but not together  )
I have yet meet someone that would say no to potato chips and ice cream... :D

Day 27: opened some (junk) mail with the Fixir's gutting blade (the four-layer model I have isn't as well made as the three-layer/three-blade model; and the main blade isn't sharpened very well).

MTO SAK-Alike Day 27 by cody6268, on Flickr
Small world, I have been using Fixir for this half of the challenge, and good to see another member using it. :tu:

Day 27

I'm really beginning to love this blade shape for opening packages.

(Image removed from quote.)
I am always a strong advocate for sheetfoot/wharncliff for package opening, especially on a slip joint.

Day 28, found a loose screw that needed tightening

(Image removed from quote.)
Good use! :tu:

I probably wasn't using the best glue(elm's glue) there is when I first made the straw picture frame for the little guy's homework, so it was completely fallen apart after just a day in school.  This time I get to redo it again, and I will be using the Devcon 2 ton epoxy with double layered reinforced straws.  Hopefully, it will hold up alright.

Anyhow, I got to really use Mikov Stovka's scissors for this task, and after literally hundred of cuts, I am confident to say it is a pretty darn good scissors. :D

What a lovely, colorful picture. There is beauty even in the simplest things.

Day 28:

Changed some batteries with the Swiza D04's Phillips. I had stuck this thing in a drawer until last month's Daredevil Challenge, but my opinion has changed immensely in the time since. It is, by far, the most comfortable multifunction knife I own.

MTO challenges, in my opinion, are the best way to test a knife or tool you own. I've had knives and tools I thought to like (Schrade Tough Tool) that I liked, but proved awkward when in real use. The Swiza I hated before the challenge, but I liked it more and more as the challenge went on.

Used the Mini TT to open some boxes.  The cutting hook works real good for going through packing tape, even the type with strings in it.  Then used the blade to cut some fat wood for some outdoor morning coffee.

If the scissors were better on this, I would probably carry it a lot more.  The combo tool with hook is handy and the blade may be short but is nice a solid.

I had the Ruike version before Boker started selling their own-brand version in the Tech Tool line.  The scissors were the biggest problem that I had, but the belt cutter and blade were really nice! The version without the scissors has to be my favorite small knife.

Bottle opener on the RRR is very good.  It consistently removes bottle caps in one smooth motion.

Day 29

Fixir cuts a few strip of cloth and accompanies me doing a forced patina on a Spyderco.

Got this new Spyderco Stretch 2 (straight back with K390) not too long ago, and upon examining the blade, it was developing patina even with just a finger print(no sweat).  So I decided to do a force patina on this puppy, but unlike most steel I did patina in the past, it developed a weird cloudy pattern on the steel.  My usual procedure to 'reset' the blade is really simple, strop/metal polish/finest steel wool would always remove the patina very quickly.  But boy was I wrong on this, it took me a long, long time and a lot of elbow grease to finally remove most of it.The second picture is what I got after 1/2-1 hour of patina removal.    This K390 surely is a strange steel.

Day 29:

I have not been crazy about the Free T2 at all. It's one of the few models I bought, but never  quite understood. While it has fewer tools, I like the Crater C33T/TX better. With that, I have a full 3D Phillips that can also accept the Removable Bit Adapter that is carried with my Rebar/ST300/Bond that have it (as well as Gerbers and others).

It was handy, and I'd mostly been using a large CRKT folder (Ruger Windage) to break up boxes today. I've been trying to clean several years' worth of junk out.

Thanks! They're great! :like:

Thanks, guys, but I almost immediately cleaned up some of the edges on the larger icon. I must have originally done these on my netbook instead of my desktop, or I would have noticed the weird white artifacting. I mean, I only changed maybe two pixels on each end, but it looks less like an old GIF aliasing problem..

These ones are cleaner copies.
