Spirit Tool
on: January 19, 2009, 09:25:43 AM
Just picked this up on Saturday.  What a fine piece for the collection!  The tools are ever so smooth opening and perfect lockup.  Nice complement of tools as well.  A bit heavy (no pun intended) when carrying the "extra gear" but I just leave the bits at home and nylon shealth the pliers for carry.
Oh yeah... I just have to remember to take the polish cloth along to wipe the fingerprints off it each time I finish using it. :D

For the love of god leave the cloth at home. No you dont have to wipe it off. Mickey will tell yo the swiss tool has its own butler included int he package. Just look under the directions they are usually crumpled up in the corner.

As someone who loves his phosphated steel tools, I find the polished finish of Swiss tools slightly disconcerting.

Nice catch Sean!  The Spirit is one of my favorites, and don't worry about the finish- it can get just as dirty as any other tool and come back smiling just as big!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts after you've had a chance to put it through it's paces!

I want one of those ratchet kits, but I don't want the Spirit, and they are pretty expensive the ones I've seen.
I used to come here a lot.

Problem is, a lot of the US sellers won't post overseas, and if they do, it can cost $27!

as always thanks for the encouraging replies!

I got lucky I think with this one.  The fella who had it never used it.  After looking at it closely before buying it, it could have been sold as new.  I only paid 50 bucks for it with ratchet set included in box.
