Since we're bumping and oldie, I'm gonna add an oldie Handyman 7236maU:

That's a beauty! Do you have a date on yours? And does yours have a 90° stop on the technicians screwdriver?
And, by any chance, does it have writing on the inside of the outer liner on the blade side?

My Craftsman lives in my go bag. I never understood how the Master Craftsman got it's name when it doesn't have pliers

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Isn't it obvious? Achieving the same results w/o pliers displays superior craftsmanship  ;)

Thanks, I'd call it c. '69. If I'm looking at the same knife. I have a handful of these.

It is a 90º stop for the SD.  I thought they all are. Or at least all the Cadillac/Motorists etc. I've seen are.

Not sure what you mean about the writing, but no, I haven't seen such writing in any of them.

Sorry about the late response, I've been away from my computer for a while now.

....

The 'first' Handyman c. '72/73. Clip point, 5 turn CS, NS shield, Black scissor spring, markings on scaler, 'new' Metal Saw:

I believe this is the first iteration to follow the 7236maU version.

I need help in identifying this slightly older SAK. Based on SAKWiki, the layered tools seem to point this to the Handyman. However, it does not have a hook and I don’t recall it came with a mini-screwdriver.

Is this an older Handyman model, and if so, can you guys help point when this model was sold?  Interestingly, the cockscrew is grooved.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Best, Firetower

A Handymonday for me to start the week:

Such a fantastic SAK. Why has this thread stagnated?

Nice carry, Mr. Nix

The Handyman is not a favorite here  :dunno: I like it, but considering that the Spirit has more and better tools in an even thinner package, it wins out over the Handyman almost always.

I'm sure you are right, but the Handyman seems easier to carry. At least in my pocket. And I love the excess of tool options.  :D
