Comparing my Bond to my Wave+, the pliers appear to have the exact same external dimensions. And I know from experience the Wave and Rebar have identical pliers.

I made a bad assumption! My Rebar and Wave have differently-shaped plier heads!

I know (from direct, personal modding experience) the Wave and Rebar ones are 100% drop-in swappable. I think I'm still 99% sure the Bond and Rebar are compatible.

They should be compatible  If not then you might have to grind the Rebar plier head to match the Wave + profile :salute: SteveC has done this with a Rebar plier head and it looks just like a Wave + one

I really like the straight up unadulterated Bond coupled with a nice compact pocket knife.

Did the rebar pliers fit in the bond without any modifications? They fit properly so that the bond closes all of the way?

The Rebar and Wave + pliers drop straight in. I tried both and settled on the Rebar, not sure why, I like how it’s turned out. Handles sit  correctly and together when closed.

I got a Bond awhile ago, and rather than struggle disassembling it with a couple pairs of pliers, I waited for purpose-made tools to arrive from Russia (they took awhile, but arrived early!) Now I have a Bond with some extra Rebar tools I've had in the closet for years.

I'm actually really surprised this fits so comfortably.

The tool closes properly. There is soft, loose clumping on everything but the main blade, which makes it very easy to get everything out. The main blade opens independently from the rest. I didn't have to add any extra washers (in fact, I have some left over.)

Here is the exact order of all the internal parts in this build:

Left side, top to bottom: awl, large screwdriver, scissors, file, saw (there are no washers in this side at all.)
Right side, top to bottom: washer, medium screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, can/bottle opener, washer, main blade, washer.

This was fun, and will make a vanishingly small satchel-carry backup multi-plier!

Edit to add: I just discovered that in this configuration, I can open every tool without using my fingernails. Neat!

Great configuration,  Jothra :woohoo: I may take mine back apart, fix the file locking notch a bit and add some of this to mine   :like: :like:

It takes time for things to get from Russia to Canada. It took less time than expected, but still took time.

Edit: I used "awhile" twice in my first sentence. Oops.

:like: I might have to steal the scissors from a parts Wave and copy this mod!

I realized tonight I had an extra washer still in there between the awl and the handle. I removed it, and now the non-blade tools are much easier to open.

Finally out in Oz at a low price of AUD$110.00 +-(USD$82)

I think I'll wait a little and see if it drops. I'm not to sure there is that much value in it...

It might be cheaper to buy a Rebar and take some tools out of it.

Jothra, do the file and saw rub against each other in this configuration? I'm thinking about trying it, but I'm instinctively wary of putting a file next to other tools without a washer in between.

I wondered the same before I tried it. Good news: their tangs are wide enough to keep the blades from rubbing.

The pliers do lightly contact the file when closing, but it doesn't seem to be scraping or causing any damage.
